Great value. Excellent, helpful staff. Not the greatest golf course - but its character made up for that. Great wildlife around.

A lovely neat, friendly town with very helpful people and beautiful scenery. Pilgrims meal was affordable and tasty! Our pilgrim send off with a bell ringing 'ceremony' was memorable. Overall a lovely place to stay and easy to get around.

Ponte de Lima is a perfect place for a pilgrim on the Camino to take a rest day. Perfect place to get your laundry done properly, catch up with your sleep. Lots of nice restaurants to eat in. Many interesting alleys to walk through and enough sights to take in a day.

Ponte de Lima is a remarkably well-preserved, historically important village in Northern Portugal. It has been a crossroads for centuries. Probably for a Druids-like culture, definitely for the Romans, for hundreds of thousands of pilgrims walking the historic Camino (Caminho in Portuguese), as well as for people traveling east-to-west from the mountains to the Atlantic.
Today, Ponte de Lima continues to be an important crossroads as well as gathering space for walking & hiking, cyclists, various forms of boating (with a champion training center along the Rio Lima), horse riding, international gardening and more.
It's hard to fully explain how much cultural importance there is in Ponte de Lima for the Minho (region), Portugal (as a country), and, indeed, all of Europe in such a small village. Well worth visiting.
I spent three weeks there, fell in love with the village, and like it so much that I intend to move there.

The village is beautiful as well as the bridge, which we walked from end to end. There were several good restaurants to choose from. Everything is within walking distance. There are great sculptures spread throughout town. We would come again.

My wife and I have been visiting Ponte de Lima for 30 years.
My wife and I have been visiting Ponte de Lima for 30 years. It has changed and become much busier over the years. However, it has managed to retain its friendly low key ambience. It is still possible to recognise the town of years ago despite the changes. A truly lovely place.

Picturesque, regional town, with old architecture and great walks within the town and its hinterland. The town opens onto a broad riverfront with great views including of a historic multi-arched bridge which gives the town its name.
A lovely hotel. I arrived very early to check in but the wonderful lady at reception made me feel very welcome while I waited. Every member of the staff who we encountered were welcoming and smiling always. The room was very nice, very comfortable beds and a delightful balcony. We took advantage of the spa and had a pilgrims massage. Anna in the spa was Fantastic!
Our breakfast was very nice, many excellent options.
And the location is perfect. Near the old city and the Roman Bridge.
A perfect place for El Camino pilgrims.
Quality of furnishings and facilities within the room was excellent. Excellent attention to detail and what we really appreciated was that it is just so nice to be able to make tea or coffee in your room - when you want to! Really difficult to find any fault. These are among the nicest rooms we've stayed in anywhere in Europe - or in North America! Excellent service and courtesy from Maria and her staff. Breakfast was excellent! Also, lots of car parking space at the back of the hotel - and space in front if needed!
Everything! The staff are amazing-very attentive to ensuring a comfortable, serene, and enjoyable stay. We were lucky enough to spend 5 nights at Hotel Paco de Vitorino. The grounds are beautiful and include a large pool. The bed was 10 out of 10 for comfort. . It felt like we were on a retreat, yet close enough to drive to Ponte de Lima, Ponte de Barca, Guimaraes, Braga & explore the Minho region. It was an unforgettable experience!!! Thank you!! It was super comfortable. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and had a great sleep. The hotel was close to a variety of restaurants and grocery stores. What I enjoyed the most, especially if you are walking the Camino, is they have a laundry washing machine you can use to wash your clothes. They have drying racks to dry them after. They also have a communal kitchen filled with treats. I would come back here again
The location was incredible. An EASY walk to the historic center (10 minutes), yet also great to return to Arcozelo each night to a quieter part of the region. The family operating the property are wonderful. Their son, João, speaks near-fluent English. Yet they also had great patience with me as I struggled to learn more Portuguese. And the flowers? Oh my goodness. A sight to behold each morning.
The property is in a location that allows you to easily visit Viana do Castelo, Valença, Monçao, and Ponte da Barca. The house is gorgeous and spacious. There are 3 en-suite bedrooms and a bedroom downstairs where you would have to go upstairs to use the bathroom. The induction cooktop is a plus. The host was responsive, kind, and helpful. I would recommend it to others.
The entire property was spotlessly clean. Diana was exceptionally energetic, personable, and helpful. The breakfast was fabulous with scrambled eggs offered and prepared by Diana. She was also very informative about Portugal and proud of her establishment and heritage. Finally, she helped in securing a bus ticket. Very comfortable stay.
Rooms are exactly at centre of Ponte de Lima - a few meters from the bridge. So the location is fantastic.
The room is a good size for 1 person and fits luggage/bag (if you're doing the Camino as well). I chose Terraço da Vila for a "restful night" and was a perfect choice. Recommended.
I did like the location, just facing the river and down town Ponte de Lima. Breakfast was the enough to our request. The co works did a helpful job after I request to a different room. 1st room was big but the smaller one facing the river was better.
The location is lovely, a short drive to Ponte de Lima for shopping, meals out etc, the garden is fabulous, lots of space, listening to the river that flows along side the garden is very relaxing, the pool is amazing, a truly stunning location.
The property, situated within a patch of nature just a few minutes away from Ponte de Lima, was a great place to relax. If you can't decide between the town and trees this place puts you in a good position to easily enjoy both.
I loved my stay in Merceraria de Vila. It was right in the centre of Ponte de Lima you could not get a better location for the Camino. The beds were great breakfast was perfect. I realy enjoyed my stay.
Gorgeous spacious stylish room in the centre of Ponte de Lima. very friendly host Elisabeth. the room is very luxurious with beautiful colour scheme. we loved it!
