One of the only hotels to be located directly on Portofino’s pretty little harbour, Albergo Nazionale offers lovely views and great service as well as spacious, comfortable rooms.

This is right in the heart of Portofino, a place we love, so not having a sea view (costing a lot extra) at this price point is inevitable. That said, room without view had everything we needed, and Andrea at reception was friendly and super-helpful (tip, you can park right in front of the hotel until 10 AM to pick up luggage). Breakfast was modest but OK. It's a magical place and lots of people will pay two or mor times as much to be there!

From arriving up the steep track, we were warmly greeted by Jacamo and provided water and info on the Monasteries history. We had a gorgeous meal that evening all at normal prices. We absolutely loved this small haven of sanctuary with stunning views over Portofino.

A beautiful, natural harbour, adapted to suit visiting nautical travellers and a base for charter boats. A short climb to stunning views from a high elevation point and historic castle. Interesting shops and a small general store. Lots of dining choices - many on the waters edge. Most enjoyed early in the morning and later at night when there are less people.
Inadequate and expensive parking with no options elsewhere.
All in all - loved it!

Portofino was beautiful and lived up to expectations.
Portofino was beautiful and lived up to expectations. However, it is tiny and the weather was not great which limits what there is to do. Two nights rather than three would have been enough.
Also it really is expensive. Not a place to go if you are on a budget.
My husband and son had brilliant food - particularly DaV Mere - but they love fish and seafood. Not great for vegetarians.

We enjoyed walking and getting around but Portofino is really small so don't spend more than one night there. I was expecting more people to be around but it was really empty after the sunset. People come in boats to know the harbour but they don't stay around after so it's very quiet (at least in April when I went). There aren't that many options for good food but the restaurant "Trattoria Tripoli" was a highlight of our stay in Portofino. Probably the best Frutti di mare spaghetti I have had in my life!

Portofino had been on the bucket list for some time so the expectations were high.... and so they were met ! A very very nice little village on the cost with all typical medditerrainian stuf. 1 day should be enough to cover it as a small place. Can recommend to travel here off season as no crowds and safe to move around. The Restaurants might seem a bit expencive but then they are good !

Portofino might have been a lovely place in the 60s - today it is a poor cartoon of a fisherman's village. Ridiculously overpriced (2 spritz + 0.5l water 33€) but still overcrowded. Seems there are a lot of people, that hope some of the yacht owners wealth will be shared with them if they get close...
The location of the property was amazing, right at the heart of Portofino. The view from the window also stunning.
If you spend one night here it's a good spot as you can enjoy Portofino to the fullest.
The team who works there was helpful with providing us with additional towels when we asked & let us have early check in which was helpful for us.
Staff are very friendly. The in-house food is really worth it, home-cooked, cheap and much more authentic than some of the stuff in the town. It's convenient as well because it is a steep climb and a walk to and back from Portofino bay for dinner. The whole ethos of the place is really cool and so nice to relax in the evening.
Accommodation was very nice, very well appointed and nicely decorated. Spacious apartment, kitchen and outdoor terrace area.
The location was good, just a walk up the hill from the main area of Portofino.
Would be ideal for a longer stay.
