The dog friendliest of dog friendly hotels we've been to. Staff super friendly, big room and bed. Extra sausage available at breakfast for the dog (human breakfast also lovely!) and cleaning staff left extra gravy bones for her. Fantastic walking behind the hotel.

The Old Brewhouse, hotel in Cirencester

Located in a 17th century town house, The Old Brewhouse is a charming and characterful bed and breakfast. Free parking is possible on site, and free Wi-Fi is accessible in certain areas.

George the owner was really helpful and his breakfasts were excellent. All the staff were very friendly and provided good service. Nothing to complain about, only downside was we could have done with a ground floor, but all booked. We had a 1st floor room which was nice and adequate, but if we came again we would need a ground floor.

Lovely old town with plenty of shops, particularly individual, local shops. Good place to walk around and plenty of eating places and coffee shops to take a break. Great history around the town from Roman times. Unfortunately we didn't have time to investigate all the places of interest. A particular place to mention was Sudeley Castle which was an absolute gem.

Cirencester is compact and easily navigable. Many of the streets are narrow and quaint with beautiful buildings. The Abbey and the Abbey Gardens are stunning. The market place was interesting and had a good variety of stalls

Cirencester has almost everything a visitor would want from a market town including a Saturday food and produce outside market and a arts and crafts indoor market. This is alongside many high street chain shops as well as small independent shops. There are many restaurants, wine bars and pubs as well to choose from covering all sorts if tastes and preferences.

There is an interesting mix of shops, arts arts and crafts, parkland, cafes and historical sites. The church is beautiful inside and is worth a revisit to take it all in. The historical buildings from different centuries side by side give it character and is a surprise each time you walk through an alley or turn a corner. The food sold on the farmers market is a good quality and mix and the craft market is also high quality. We will be revisitng.

The market square, overlooked by St John's church - 'the cathedral of the Cotswolds' is very beautiful. The church is staggering - very large and ornate - an architectural jewel. Parking in town was easy enough (April, Easter holidays). The market outside the church (we were there on a Friday morning) was small but all of the stalls were interesting, with very high-quality fish, vegetables and bakery. We ate well at our hotel, the Stratton House just out of town on the Gloucester Road.

Have never known a town with so many shopping arcades. Also a good market in the square on Friday & Saturday, a good variety of stalls. The Corinium Museum showing the towns Roman past is well worth a visit.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Thames Head Wharf. The hosts, Chris and Ann, were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and made us feel very much at home. The room was clean, comfortable, spacious, and well-equipped. The location is very quiet and peaceful, about 3 miles outside Cirencester, with beautiful views across the countryside. We enjoyed walking across the fields to the source of the River Thames and to a couple of nice pubs about a mile or so away. There is free parking on site. We would highly recommend Thames Head Wharf!

Pleasant country house hotel, traditional decor. Quite a large property, but still felt small and friendly. Gorgeous huge lawn and garden area overlooked on nice seating areas outside the hotel. Breakfast included full hot meals as well as continental offerings and was excellent quality Dinner meals were medium priced, OK. Hotel has tons of parking. Spa is separate payment, as they clearly indicate Cirencester is just 2 miles by car with plenty of parking (free after 6pm).

The warm welcome was much appreciated. The apartment is 5*, better than staying in a hotel. Just excellent. The facilities were great, the lounge/diner really well appointed and well lit. The kitchen had everything you need, if you wish to cook. Bring milk if you take that with your tea/coffee is a hint, otherwise there is a garage down the road, or the main town in the other direction. Another hint, bring your Netflix details to use on the TV.

The family that owned the property were incredibly welcoming, accommodating and friendly. I felt very comfortable there and it is only a half hour walk to the town centre. It is a very peaceful neighbourhood/estate. My bed was comfortable and the room was generously sized with space to do exercise and a desk. The shower was so powerful, which I loved. I'd definitely come back :)

I would not usually choose to stay at an expensive hotel but for a special occasion this hotel is good value for money. It is quietly understated welcoming, and cosy with excellent staff who go out of their way to make your stay the best ... special mention for Andy the gardiner who told us all about his chickens.
