Relaxed out of town hotel in a funky Nubian style and a pool with a million dollar view of the Nile and the lights of Aswan at night. Very helpful staff during check-in and departure and also when arranging trips and transport (good breakfast bags given during days with early starts). Fun uphill walk from the beach to the hotel across the sand and fun tuk-tuk from the local village along the desert road.

The staff were extremely helpful and attentive. The location was peaceful and had very pretty views. The treatment we have received at the hotel has been exceptional. Achraf, the hotel owner, and his family have made us feel at home. They provided us with all the assistance needed to reach Abu Simbel and were always concerned about our well-being. Thank you very much!

Loved our stay at Kendaka. We also organised transport and tours which were very good.
The owner made you feel very welcome and genuinely like family. The food was excellent. Pictures of the rooms, don't do them justice. The beds are comfy, good size and excellent Aircon.
Fantastic location as just a 1 minute walk from the heart of the Nubian Village.
We loved our stay and would recommend to anyone wanting an authentic, comfortable stay with excellent food.

The best is the Nubian Village with their blue houses and a lot of decoration, you feel that you are in a movie set! It is really beautiful location.
Close it's the Philae Temple which is amazing! The trip in boat is necessary to access it and actually better than what I was expecting.
The worst is the amount of street animals in poor condition. Do not go on a tour around it as it's unnecessary and you will be taken to see crocodiles in small cages, we didn't do it specially for this reason. Anyway the village is easy to walk around if you don't mind the amount of people asking you to go to their shop, but that is in any part of Egypt

Great place as it's very far from big cities.
Great place as it's very far from big cities. However, you must be aware of constant harrassment and big prices on anything. It's definetely worth visiting, but don't think it's worth more than three days. Elephantine island is a MUST to stay and walk - very cozy place and very friendly people.

Much more laid-back than Luxor and a world away from Cairo.
Much more laid-back than Luxor and a world away from Cairo. Abu Simbel is only 3 hours away by car and was a high point of our Egypt trip. Philae is a nice excursion, and the Unfinished Obelisk and its quarry are interesting. We stayed in a hotel right on the Nile in the Nubian Village and would recommend that lower-key vibe.
The road from Luxor to Aswan has more speed bumps and check points than you can imagine; the good road on the West Bank is closed to tourist traffic. Ya gotta be patient. Consider the train...
The Aswan High Dam is rightfully a source of pride for the Egyptians but they don't let you see much of it for security reasons. You could spend your time better elsewhere.
Don't forget a pocket full of small bills (5-10-20s) for baksheesh for toilets, helpers, temple guards, etc. Be prepared to pay for meals in Egyptian pounds in smaller restaurants.

Beautiful historical places to visit from here.
Beautiful historical places to visit from here. Philae Temple and Abu Simbel (a 3-hour trip from Aswan) are the most chosen. But you can also enjoy the Nile kayaking, swimming or even crossing to Elephantine Island for a sunset drink or dinner.

Unlike Cairo, Aswan is much slower paced and people are much nicer. The city has several historical sites, temples, and islands. The views and food are amazing. I’m skipping Cairo on my next trip to Egypt and coming straight to Aswan and Luxor.

A very beatiful place to relax and enjoy the sun during winter.
We felt very safe and happy.
The local market is great it has unique and authentic goods.
The philae Temple is great it has spots to take photos and great views.
We enjoyed the Botonical Garden very much as it has plants from all over the world.
The feluca ride is one of the best things we enjoyed but first you have to agree on the price.
The hospitality from the host is the best. We had been threatened by a taxi driver in Aswan but the host dealt the problem for us. The host is really helpful and I feel really safe during the stay. N say we are safe during our stay in the Nubian village. It got a good river view from our room n it's nicely decorated. Also this area got the best food among Egypt!
We had a disturbing experience of harassment. While the receptionist was showing my sister-in-law to the room she would stay in, he harassed her with his hand. After checking out of the hotel, when my sister-in-law told me that she was being harassed, I did not get any results although I contacted the hotel manager and sent an e-mail to booking.com.
We had a very nice and comfortable stay at the Aswan Nile Palace. The rooms are big, clean, with amazing view! What made this place extra nice was the help of Hares for getting around, he was super friendly and helpful, definitely recommend book things through the hotel! Egypt has a lot to offer, but it can be difficult to do it by yourself.
Quality of small hotels in Egypt are so far away from european standards, so it was a really nice surprise to find this gem in Aswan region. Clean, good service, peculiar decoration and excellent view to river..A must to have half board ( delicious lunch) and to taste the nunbian coffee..thanks
