The Old Town, especially, the Market and The Wavel squares, the church where the former Pope Paul, of the Polish origin, served. Krakow has wonderful parks with beautiful fountains, and ...young talanted musicians who play classical music there. On the other hand. I wouldn't recommend a trip/voyage on the Visla River. The boats and service need to be improved. Also, the water in the river is very dirty. First visit to City and it was wonderful. Visited Auschwitz/Birkenhau which was main reason for travelling. Did golf buggy tour of city which was excellent and saw main sites, Jewish quarter, ghetto and Schlinders factory. Location of hotel by the river was fantastic and we like walking so was ideal. Visited the museum with Leonardo d'Vinci and Rembrandt paintings which was wonderful and meal in Jewish quarter fantastic. The city was amazing 5 mins from our apartment. Auschwitz was reason the reason for the visit as you can imagine its a very emotional place. Salt mines were amazing as well. Very easy to get around by foot, train & taxi. Plenty of places to eat in the main square. Make the effect to go to the Jewish quarter, food was fantastic, little markets & plenty of music. An old town surrounded by the modern city. Krakow is very green (important in the summer, you can always find some shade on your walk) and welcoming. People are friendly and willing to help. The city has a lot of space, there're many things to do and where to go with kids. Bicyclists would love it, there seems a bit too much space for bicycles than even for pedestrians))) Still, it's quite comfortable for walks as well. The Old town is impressive with it's architecture and atmosphere. The food is very tasty, and it is a good value for a relatively low price. Traffic may become a problem if you're traveling by car, so spare yourself some time when planning your route. Local market in Old town is nice if you want some fresh fruits or souvenirs. It's also a jack-of-all-trades, you can find there, for example, the specific batteries for your car key. There, cash is the means of payment, but in majority of other places, credit cards are good to go. Interesting and cultural. Lots of stag and hen parties but seemed generally well-behaved! Plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from although booking recommended in some places. Can eat quite late in Polish style pubs and bars or have takeout. Pizzerias also popular. General atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. Felt safe to walk around. It’s easily accessible by car, and has street parking right beside the hotel with ample spaces ( the hotel parking lot was full, so make sure to reserve your space early). Everything in the hotel is new so the room was fantastic and spacious. But what makes the hotel truly spectacular is the wonderful and attentive staff!!!
