Visa or Mastercard is not widely accepted at all places. and some shops only take Cash but does not have change for larger notes that the ATM's give you.
the Beach front restaurants mostly do take Visa/Mastercard and most CBD hotels. but the further you stay/travel outside Luanda most places only take cash(small notes) and local bank cards.

A normal, chaotic big African city - more expensive than most. Relatively safe to walk around downtown during the day; take care at night. If you need to be there for business, it's better than many 3rd world cities. For tourism, not much to see/do in Luanda. Airports are normal: Completely chaotic

Roads improved a lot . City is relatively clean.
Roads improved a lot . City is relatively clean. You can find good restaurants along the seaside. Taxis are not easy to find so better book a driver. Before arrival it is better to book transfer with a hotel. Airport taxis can be very expensive.
Our stay at casas de luanda GH Kinaxixi was very satisfying. My sister, niece and I stayed there for 12 nights and we really felt very comfortable there. The rooms are cleaned every single day. Because of our long stay, we also created a close relationship with the staff. Everyone was very attentive. A very special thanks to Laura, you are a class act. You made our stay more pleasant and warm. We miss the conversations! By the way i still think of your scrumptious pineapple cake. We will definitely come back!! Um abraço grande, Marta
A very comfortable, clean and well-located apartment. Wilson was an excellent host, replying to my numerous questions promptly and allowing us to check out late - he also speaks English! The apartment has good security but we didn't feel unsafe in Luanda - we walked all over the downtown area and had no issues. There are a couple of small supermarkets nearby, and plenty to do - walk along the Marginal, spend a day at the beach clubs on Ilha, visit the Iron Palace, the Fort (and Forteleza Shopping Centre), several museums, etc.
If you are in Angola, and you would like to be on the water, which I do, and you like to be in the heart of the people, which I also do, then this is the place… The staff is engaging with great service, and for a modest two star hotel, this is well worth the value… everyone speaks Portuguese and a little bit of English, plenty enough to communicate, and they are incredibly accommodating… Plus a pool and great view of the
Thumbs up!
Each room had a big smart TV and a big fridge (not those small ones in the executive hotels), and the staff members were very good. They have a big kitchen right next to the dining room and gym. The kitchen is very well equipped; you can bring your ingredients and cook whenever you want to. There is a convenience store/supermarket opposite the guest for your daily needs. All rooms have an air conditioner which is needed in Luanda.
The entire hotel is beautifully decorated with tons of local art (which is also for sale). Staff super friendly. Room comfortable and clean. Has a very cool roof top bar (wasnt open but could order drinks from kitchen and sit up there to enjoy the view). Location also excellent - within walking distance / 5min drive from top restaurants
The Hotel Location was quite good and great and very strategic to other offices I needed to visit.
The hotel food was also very good
The staff also provided assistance when needed particularly when trying to get Taxi to places
I was also happy with the Airport Pick up on arrival & drop off during my departure
Everything, location, cleanliness, stuff assistance, services around, super safe, the location is prime, short walk to the city centre, short drive to the beaches of “ Ilha de Luanda” , it was a really adorable experience.
This was one of those rare experiences with budget accommodation in Africa where everything worked, the host was great, the space was comfortable, the airport transfer was on time, and it could not have gone better!
I like the location is very close to Sagrada familia and city center
There's a decent restaurant as part of the hotel and surrounding area
The room (king) was spacious
Best value for money in Luanda. The staff are extremely friendly and the manager is great at what she does. Highly recommend this place will definitely be back.
