Motorcycle parking was good but a little too small. One vehicle was parked too close and thereby restricting the motorcycle parking. That vehicle may have been an owner or staff member, as it was there for several days, but this is just my suspicion.

Really great place to be out of the madness. We stayed at the Royal River Kwai which was stunning. It was quiet, there was bird song. We took a river tour and went to an elephant sanctuary where we fed the elephants after helping them wash in the river and walking with them in the jungle. We didn't have enough time to do the train trip too and the main town area looked fun to check out - which we didn't have time to do either. We stayed 3 days here - I would recommend staying 5 or more - especially if you want to have days where you do nothing.

Great to visit such an important wartime location and experience just a tiny bit of what many prisoners of war had to endure. As with all sites like this, it’s not somewhere you go for fun, but it’s an important part of history and keeps the memory alive

Kanchanaburi was a fun place to stay for two nights.
Kanchanaburi was a fun place to stay for two nights. Erawan waterfall was definitely worth a visit. I was there in early March and other waterfalls in the area I was told might not be worth the trip due to having less water. Erawan has much less water this time of year than the rainy season, but it was still a very beautiful place to visit. I enjoyed the railroad museum and seeing the bridge over the river Kwai. There are good food and coffee options in Kanchanaburi and the train from Bangkok was a fun (but hot) experience.

Fantastic city to expand your knowledge of WWII. The Bridge.
Fantastic city to expand your knowledge of WWII. The Bridge. Thai-Burma Railway Museum (don't waste your time with any of the others). Commonwealth graves immaculately maintained. Hellfire Pass an hour away (watch The Railway Man before you go). Also great golf.

We loved a 2 days stay at ElephantsWorld!!!
We loved a 2 days stay at ElephantsWorld!!! That was the most incredible experinece so far in my life. The elephants are not chained, they walk around on their own, and after the afternoon visits leave the place you can stay alone with them.
We also loved Erawan Falls a lot! And of course you go to see the River Kwai Bridge. But we could have stayed for a week or more in the region - it is beautiful!

Apart from the attraction of the Commonwealth War Graves(...
Apart from the attraction of the Commonwealth War Graves(including many Dutch graves), the Bridge over the River Kwai and the War Museums, it is quite a large town, but without much to attract the average tourist. It is the gateway to the surrounding area with lovely countryside and other War memorials etc. But it really is not a holiday town.

Perfect resort to relax for a few days . Very chilled place, great swimming pools . Floating villas right on the river . Very peaceful , great to have a few days to chill after back packing around Vietnam , Cambodia , Laos and Thailand . Fern and all the staff are very attentive and we couldn’t praise them highly enough . Nothing is too much trouble . Dinner on both occasions was excellent and the breakfast is just perfect . A perfect place to stay .
Stay in the heart of nature, plants and trees. The hotel is small but makes you feel at home. There is not much to do here unless living a simple life. If you want to escape city life and chaos, here is a place you can relax, read a book, sip a coffee, talking to the cats and owner. The location is a bit inside of the alley (Soi) and too small for the car. The parking space is big enough but you will need guidance from the owner. Perfect stay!
The hotel is like a home, quite, clean and airy in such a reasonable price. it is very convenient to get there because it is near to bus station and you can just walk to thw hotel. It's close to city centre and easy to get food stuff. The view is good and quite area. The lady is beyond helpful. she helped us in every possible way and provide Whatever we needed. Overall it was a lovely experience.
We had a spacious and clean room with a marvelous view over the city and into the mountains. It was quiet and the beds comfortable, even though the hotel is situated in the center of everything. Short walk from the train station or the bridge over the Kwai. Staff was very friendly and helpful, the breakfast yummy and the pool small but nice.
a remnant of old Thailand, lovely, charming and comfortable. right on the river. excellent location - right in the middle of restaurant and bar area yet enough on the side to be fairly quite. it is on the river which means you get as much the feeling of being in the country while still being in a very central location.
nothing, we arrived at the hotel at 7pm and were told they already booked our room out and had none left. This was after the booking was confirmed. Bad management and they even told booking.com we didn’t show!! poor service poor front desk buyer beware!!
This was a relatively new hotel which was easy to find and well signposted. Everything worked as it should have. While they didn't speak much English, the check in was simple and quick. They were open until relatively late for the check in.
The location was beautiful but also quite far from the main town bit. The grounds of the hotel were cute. The pool on the riverside was lovely, nice to relax with the view. We appreciated the effort to make us vegan food for breakfast!
Asleep hostel is in a great location in Kanchanaburi, right next to the night market giving you endless local food to try and somewhat in the middle of the rest of the city as it spreads out in both directions.
Comparing to other hostels, right here this hotel is nearest to bus station. Yes, location is perfect for transport and convenient shops. You're never and ever hungry if staying this accommodation.
It was near to death railway and the souvenir market, the souvenir market has a place for breakfast and lunch. And it is close to city centre. Moving around is convenient from this hotel for sure.
Lovely hotel on the river, views at night were beautiful. Friendly and helpful staff. Our room was fine for a night, clean and just big enough. Breakfast was very divers, fresh and delicious!
The location is perfect on the riverbank. This is our go to hotel in Kanchanaburi. I have visited Kanchanaburi five times and stayed a Good Times four of them. Love the place and the staff
Best hotel I've ever stayed in Thailand. Very beautiful. Very clean. Worth the price. Staff very good and friendly. If I got the chance, will definitely come.
