I enjoyed that everything was in walking distance.
I enjoyed that everything was in walking distance. The local people are very nice and helpful. The local food was delicious, and the environment was a relaxing atmosphere. If you get lost any local would help you with directions or even take you to your destination. Pakse had many Buddhist monuments that you can walk into and explore and take pictures. Pakse is probably one of the most beautiful places with really incredible people. We rented a bike, it was safe for us there are not many cars on the road and the ones on scooter drive safely. Pakse is a small, dirty town without a clear center. Few good restaurants, and few people speak English. You have to have a scooter to get anywhere. There are interesting places in the area but not many of them are properly developed. Rather, their best years are behind them. At the front desk Laa (not sure about the spelling of her name) was really kind, professional and helpful. Room was pretty, clean and comfortable. Swimming pool was very nice and clean. Breakfast had a lot of choices. Hotel is 10 minutes walking from the city centre but the hotel can book a tuktuk for you for 30-40000 kip one way, to the airport 70000 kip one way and to the big buddha with the temple on the top of the mountain 200000 kip round trip with time to take pictures, do not miss it !Guest review byTatianaFrance
