Chiang Khong, a lovely little town next to the river.
Chiang Khong, a lovely little town next to the river. Views are amazing and the food is good. It is not very big so staying for an extended time may be dull for some. Great for relaxing and quiet. Excellent for walking and/or riding bicycles.Guest review byKKC68United States - 8.0
I liked to have riverview.
I liked to have riverview. We had two single beds that we rearranged such that they were mire close to eachother. Not perfect but ok. For one person the bed was too hard, for the other it was good. Was great to be on the (small) balcony to look at the river, but there were no seats. I used the pool, but at the time of the day the two high building on the side avoided all sunshine to warm up the water. We also had to use our own towels from the room, one per person. Checkout was fast without checking the room. Few hours after we left, we were in Chiang Rai already, staff called us that they we left behind a watch. They agreed to send it to our home in Chiang Mai. Great service that we really appreciate.Guest review bySterkNetherlands

Friendly english speaking owners, ready to help with any enquiry. Room was large and spotlessly clean and had a large sliding glass door on to a balcony with a fabulous view across the Mekong River to a Laos town on the other side. Close to main street with lots of cafes. The ideal town to stay when catching a slow boat to Luang Prabang, but give yourself more than just one night, to enjoy Chiang Khong.Guest review byDianneAustralia

Everything was perfect. Mai was awesome, the chef is an excellent cook, the restaurant has a chilled vibe, the pedestrianised riverwalk into town along the Mekong was a great stroll, the town is good. We originally booked for 2 nights and stayed for five but could have stayed longer. If you want a quiet and small Thai run place to recharge this is it.
