Grwat place to be. Tons of places to visit.
Grwat place to be. Tons of places to visit. Millions of bars with cold beer and great food for a decent price. Would definitely go back. Love it. Dont miss a stop at the municipal market. If you can, attend a soccer match at MRV arena. It was fantastic.Guest review byEmerson santosUnited States - 10.0

Wonderful place near the metropolitan areas of São Paulo, Campinas and São José dos Campos. The mountain landscape is incredible, the weather is very nice, there are trails and treks and lots of activities to be done. Downtown, many excellent restaurants and many shops invite the visitors to walk along the only main street in the town. In the surroundings, places like Plato and Pedra Redonda offers a unique opportunity to see, from a single place, the landscapes of two states: São Paulo and Minas Gerais.Guest review byAirtonBrazil - 8.0
I'd visited Ouro Preto 31 years earlier on a motorbike.
I'd visited Ouro Preto 31 years earlier on a motorbike. It had not changed a great deal in that time. With its cobbled streets and main square, and old churches scattered about on the steep hill tops. What had changed is there are now numerous artisan shops and places to eat and some fantastic hotels, like this one. We stayed for 4 nights during carnival time. An extra day just to chill out in the milder mountain climate would have been ideal, as it is quite tiring walking up and down the steep cobbled hills. 4 nights outside of carnival time would probably suffice normally, as there is not that much to do or see. It's just a beautiful town with lovely mountain climate. We went for the first day of carnival which was disappointing. One large stage that did not get going until 10.30pm (Due to heat) when it promptly poured with rain. After 20mins this really dampened peoples spirits.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

The trip was amazing.
The trip was amazing. Pocos de Caldas is a special city, built in a volcanic area. There are a lot of things to do for kids and adults. A mixture of nature, hot springs, and small-town life with a plaza and a band for people of any age to enjoy.Guest review bySuziUnited States - 8.0

Nice place to stop for a day or two on the road between Brasilia and Sao Paulo. Nice pool and garden, rooms are simple but big enough and clean. Food is good, people are friendly, but speak Portugese only.Guest review byArvidSri Lanka - 10.0

As its name states the town is located around a lagoon, a 15 minute ride from the international airport. The walk around the lagoon is nice and safe. There are plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants to choose from. Lagoa Santa is also an important archeological location and the place of interesting fossil findings including those of a pre-historical human race that would have migrated to South America well before the current American natives. It is worth taking the time to visit the Lapinha cave and museum. Lagoa Santa is located just over 30km from Belo Horizonte, thus offering the option of a quiet and safe place to stay and take day trips to Belo Horizonte.Guest review byCarlAustralia - 8.0

Belo Horizonte itself doesn't have a lot to offer but there is a day's worth of things to see - downtown buildings and cafes. There's also the Mercado Central - traditional market with food and drink + everyday goods (not very interesting) and the Market Novo which is the one worth visiting - in a carpark (access via the ramp) - it's packed with interesting shops, services, food and drink mixed with street art. Placa Liberdade and other buildings like the cultural centre etc. There are multiple day trips using BH as a base - Oreo Preto (2.5 hrs by bus) colonial town, Inhotim (buses from bus station and transport from Holiday Inn some days) incredible gardens and art and Pampulha Complex (modernist suburb on a lagoon) all of which are worth a visitGuest review byDianeUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Don't miss it at all, so many details to be seen. Full architecture and artistical possibilities. Rich gastronomy. Historical value in each corner. Strongly suggest to visit Mariana and Congonhas (couple outher towns, first is just 20 min drive and former 1h 30 minutes.Guest review byJosé DiasBrazil - 8.0
Great restaurants - all kinds of food.
Great restaurants - all kinds of food. The Walking Tour is a must - the guides take you through the history of this preserved town. Also I highly recommend a local winery - Luiz Porto it offers tastings and a tour of their wine making facility for small groups. The owner or his wife host.Guest review byGarciaUnited States
