It was my first time visiting Timișoara, and I really enjoyed the city centre — perhaps the leaders in Bucharest could take some inspiration. The streets I walked along had plenty of green spaces and beautiful houses, but unfortunately, many parks seem neglected. I wanted to visit the Hunyad Museum, but it is permanently closed; it would help to mention the reason in its description. The Museum of the Communist Consumer was not quite what I expected — perhaps because it’s a private initiative — but it deserves more attention, as I saw tourists coming specifically for it. The Iron Bridge is also just a point on the tourist map, yet it’s in disrepair and unkempt. Timisoara people are kind, friendly people. The food is good, and the prices are moderate. Occasionally, there is the noise of motorbikes or quads on the major city streets, but this is rare. I've been coming to Timisoara primarily for work for over a decade. It is a delightful little town, with a lively, friendly city center with lots of people, lots of places to eat, to sit and enjoy a nice evening with friends or coworkers or family. The town just gets nicer and nicer every time I visit - buildings renovated, new restaurants opening, parks developing, just beautiful.
