Very nice hotel. We stayed here for one additional night. Parking is for free next to the hotel. The village is a fantastic discovery - horses are everywhere on the streets, the houses look like something from a Western movie and the local people are very friendly. It feels like traveling back in time with a time capsule. The ocean is just 20 minutes away by car. The weather here in the evenings is very pleasant, around 23°C - breezy and cozy, probably thanks to the ocean. Definitely will come back next year.

The old town is beautifull with plenty of local people and spaniards from diffrent reagions of Spain. Not too many tourist is good news. There are delicious and trendy restaurants and tapas bars. Medina Sidonia palace is marvelous and the Church of Notre Dane of Ó, a pearl of architecture from spain, has a sweet lady guide (and very well informed).

Its a 'one off' - we have travelled all over the world and its in our top 5 as its totally unique and a living time capsule. Brilliant and a definite location to put on anyone's 'BUCKET LIST' and to let your imagination run riot from the Conquistadors to the founding of the America's and the role Religion played. All with a focus on this unique area and the huge significance of the 'equine' industry to create an empire.

The replicas of Columbus's three ships of 1492 and the skit put on at the Santa María. If you go to Palos by bus, make sure to find out what stop to get off for the hotel! Don't go to Palos if your main interest is good restaurants. If you have a car you can go to the other monumnents / monestary at or on the way to Rábida to see the ship replicas.

    Overall great value for money.

Overall great value for money. The restaurant was exceptional but it did attract local families for Sunday lunch. It is very much in the countryside but un striking distance of Saville and the coast. Go to Huelva and head East. Our bungalow was larger than expected but I suspect they are recovering from Covid and could do with a refresh. The kitchen inventory was limited but was remedied when we asked for items e.g. coffee pot. We enjoyed our time here and all the staff were so friendly and helpful.

A small Andalusian town with no obvious attractions and not especially close to any. Only basic shopping and eating available. Memorable for the bell ringing and rocket shells that sounded one evening until after dusk, presumably to keep flocks of birds off a nearby crop !! Avoid the bar Zona Zero - expensive beer and cheese !!

Matalascanas is right beside Donana National Park but the mosquitoes don't stay behind the fence so bring plenty of insect repellent because they are irrepressible and they are everywhere. At this time of the year (April), the main supermarkets are closed (Google lies about this) and so are a lot of restaurants and other shops etc. At this time also, the bars and restaurants on the beach are mostly understaffed and overpriced and so don't expect service with a smile or in a hurry.

How can you not love a town that has dirt/sand streets, horse hitching posts at the houses, great restaurants and bars, and is just plain fun. it was not crowded, but we understand that changes in June for the Virgin Mary festival.
