Golden sands now is very turistic and way too crowded.
Golden sands now is very turistic and way too crowded. The walking corridor along the beach and the hotels now is full of stores and restaurants and sometimes you cannot even walk. There are several things to explore in the area besides de beach ( which to me is better towards Varna than golden sands). Varna sea garden, and harbor are a nice thing to explore while you are there. Also other historical places as the Ovech fortress or the aladhza monastery are good options. Good place for laying in the sun. No historical places nearby - the closest is Cape Kaliakra. Best place to eat - Ambassador Steak House: excellent food (best chicken quattro formaggi; great chinese style chicken; great teriyaki chicken; great rose wine by the glass) and great services. Worst place to eat - McDonald's: horrible food, double the regular prices, rude staff (we could not pay because there was an apparent error with the "EFT") and the staff chief (probably) laughed with his colleagues and mumbled in their native language.Guest review byConstantinRomania - 8.0

Rooms, especially bathrooms hadn't been cleaned in a while and this sucked, since I chose this hotel for the advertised cleanliness. Also, the hotel never made public the fact that it didn't have an elevator...we were given rooms on the third floor and we are in our late sixties...I asked for a lower floor (they had rooms on lower floors but they refused)...I would not recommend this hotel to my enemies !Guest review bycristianRomania
