Must do is the Pacific Whale Foundation Whale trip, totally awesome and they are non profit so all the money goes back into the research of the whales. I prefer the quieter side of Hervey Bay the side we stayed in Torquay was busy but vibrant. Loads of places to eat on the Esplanade. The pier is worth a walk along. Make sure you get to the beach at sunset as it is beautiful to watch.Guest review byLindaHUnited Kingdom - 10.0
So much history in Maryborough.
So much history in Maryborough. The military museum is one of the best in Australia. The Gallipoli trail is a must. The river is lovely and the town is peaceful but has everything you want for a few days to see all the history.Guest review byHeinrichAustralia - 8.0

Loved our time on Fraser island ...took a beauty points all day tour which was informative and really enjoyable. ... also was able to take advantage of a flight from the beach over lake Mckenzie and the ocean edge.. saw many whales.. truly amazing! .Extended our stay to 6 nights.. great walks from the resort...our breakfast was included and was a very tasty hot buffet with many options... would definitely recommend Fraser island as a few days getaway.. only negative was the rooms weren't obviously soundproof and the people above us were a bit noisy at timesGuest review byRhonda - 2.0

The seafood was excellent that we purchased from the fisheries. Fresh off the boat. Hervey Bay is very humid this time of year. I was there for my brothers funeral. So I will not be staying at Mantra agin. I will choose somewhere much quieter.Guest review bylynAustralia - 10.0
Love Burrum, love the river & the beach.
Love Burrum, love the river & the beach. Great fishing. during the day the facilities are good. The only issue is the lack of a restaurant, or eating facilities at night. Love that the pub has a courtesy bus, but food choice is very limited, & no entertainment. The bowls club was closed on a Sunday night, so the only choice was the pub. Food was good, but pricey & not much variety.Guest review byStainer - 8.0
Clean and confortable with central location.
Clean and confortable with central location. Picked the Station Hotel for dinner and it was nice food (pub style food) and staff welcoming. Do accept small to mdium dogs which was nice (we have one but not on this trip). Outdoor amenities include outdoor kitchen and pool area. Kitchen location wasn't the best and looked like you would need to open it all up for guests rather than being readily available to quests. But it looked really usable. Pool area was less than inviting and looked uncared for. We stayed a night so really good for that. But for a longer term stay the amentities may be lees then you were expecting.Guest review byKymAustralia - 10.0

Every 3rd Sunday of the month, they hold a Open Mic, myself being musical, actually went for this reason. Beautiful friendly people. Take your time, meandering through the country roads, little towns of Gunalda, Theebine, Curra to explore on your way. The drive was as much of my adventure, as my destination to the music.Guest review byRichards - 10.0

Nice little place for a relaxing few days, people and dog friendly. Great walking paths along the beaches and surrounding areas. Not a big shopping area but enough to get by for a couple of days. There are other bigger shopping centres only minutes drive away.Guest review bygaryAustralia - 10.0

Our stay at this charming retreat was nothing short of magical! From the moment we booked, the legendary host, Marilyn, showered us with warmth and care, ensuring every detail was meticulously arranged. Though we didn't have the pleasure of meeting Marilyn in person, her presence was felt in every corner of the impeccably maintained property, reflecting her heart and soul. Jane, her delightful neighbour, stepped in seamlessly, ensuring our comfort and happiness throughout our stay. The cleanliness and attention to detail exceeded our wildest expectations, making this experience unforgettable. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Jane for her kindness and hospitality, which added an extra layer of joy to our stay. We cannot wait to return and bask again in the love and kindness permeating this sanctuary.Guest review bySamAustralia - 10.0

Hervey Bay was great as the esplanade is long and plenty of shops/restaurants and bars to visit. There is a walking path on both sides and a few jetty's and piers to walk down. The whale watching was incredible and educational and Hervey Bay is the best place to watch them rest and play.Guest review bySonjaAustralia
