Amazing architecture, well described and educational museums...
Amazing architecture, well described and educational museums, very nice polite people, pretty decent food and drink. You need about 4 days overall, to get to know the city, and possibly go back to the places you liked best (if that's your thing when you travel - it is for me). However, the religious thing does get a bit tiring, as does the noise level. Best part of town by a long stretch was Santo Antonio depois do Carmo, which is beyond the Pelourinho. The Casa das histórias de Salvador was very good, albeit a bit short on live story telling.Guest review byCristinaBelgium - 10.0

An incredible experience, but can be improved much, airport does not have a decent structure for tourists. cleaning in the city may be better. and Security once you can only go in certain parts of the city.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
Morro de São Paulo is a paradise.
Morro de São Paulo is a paradise. I highly recommend people visit Salvador just to get the catamaran to Morro de São Paulo. The island is amazing and I recommend the scooner/escuna from Passeios Morro, to visit some amazing highlights.Guest review byGeorgeUnited Kingdom - 6.0
Location and the beach are amazing.
Location and the beach are amazing. The hotel is old and the main areas are fine but the rooms need renovation. Gardens and main pool area are great even though the pool needs to be cleaned more often. Value for money could be better considering rooms need to be renovated.Guest review byPauloPortugal - 10.0

Itacaré has a relaxed and bohemian vibe with charming streets lined by vibrant colour houses. Is relatively untouched by massive tourism and evolved by ecological reserves, rainforests, and beautiful landscapes. Is the perfect spot for those who love sports like surfing, climbing, kayaking, paddle boarding and trekking.Guest review bySarahSpain - 10.0
Praia do Forte is great for holidays.
Praia do Forte is great for holidays. It has something for everyone. Plenty of restaurants, beach shopping and different types of beaches: natural swimming pools are the atraction but you can find some calm waters as well some deep ones. You won't run out of things to do there.Guest review byAlinParjoleaDenmark - 10.0

Trancoso is an absolute must if you are looking to explore Brazil and Bahia. It has stunning beaches and views, but also has a very lively atmosphere with plenty of amazing restaurants and shops, easily walkable around Quadrado. The food is amazing, with plenty of amazing local cuisine options. Would highly recommend visiting Praia dos Nativos, Praia do Espelho e Praia da Tartaruga.Guest review byCarolinaUnited Kingdom - 6.0
Ilhéus has a rich historical background, but the town feels...
Ilhéus has a rich historical background, but the town feels neglected, with many historical buildings falling into disrepair. It’s not particularly touristic—more functional than charming. That said, there are some good bars and restaurants, and the centrally located airport is convenient. The beaches, while decent, don’t compare to the stunning ones in the surrounding region. It’s worth a short stop for its historical significance, but the lack of restoration is disappointing.Guest review bychachatwistUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A lively, bustling area with plenty to go for eating and shopping. It is less urban than Salvador but still very densely populated and active with everything you need close by. I felt safe, especially during the day. I didn't go out at night as much, so I can't comment on that. But it was beautiful and not too far from beaches or other attractions by car or ride share.Guest review bySarahUnited States - 4.0

Salvador is full of culture and history but it doesnt feel safe and a lot of people were very unpleasant to my family and me when working (at restaurants for example). Saw one of the most beautiful sunsets at the lighthouse at barra.Guest review byEduardoNetherlands
