Wonderful old town with its honeycolored tuffstone buildings...
Wonderful old town with its honeycolored tuffstone buildings in barock achitecture. The Duomo and the great piazza del Duomo with its Campanile, Bishop Palace are beautiful.. From the church tower one has a great view. Another great and lively square is Piazza Sant Oronzo with the statue of the saint. Unfortunately, there was construction and closure of some part of the square but still big enough space for street performances at night. Day time was too hot. Aroud the piazza are niche cafes and restaurants.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
Gallipoli is really beautiful.
Gallipoli is really beautiful. There is the old town which is very touristy. It is nice to walk around, buy souvenirs or get lunch/dinner. The beach is nice but crowded. Outside of the old town (on other side of the bridge), there are more locals and the prices are cheaper for lunch/dinner/drinks. There is a long avenue with nice shops and places to eat. I stayed in the old town (5-minute walk from the beach) and it was perfect. The only annoying thing is that taxis cannot enter the old town. It was difficult to bring our suitcases from the train station up into the old town. It was a 20-minute walk in very hot weather. When leaving Gallipoli, we ordered a taxi but the taxi can only come as far as the bridge, so we still had to walk for 10 minutes with our cases. This was difficult in the heat with cobblestones and small paths or streets. Gallipoli is very walkable and easy to get around. It is nice to do a walk along the seafront at night and there are lots of nice bars and restaurants.Guest review byEdieKKIreland - 10.0
Unique city with its White Houses.
Unique city with its White Houses. You can walk for hours hanging around the little and narrow streets, the amazing square with the statue of Saint Oronzo and the street tat brings to the cathedral!! Unmissable!Guest review byRossella - 10.0
Otranto has a charming, beautiful Altstadt.
Otranto has a charming, beautiful Altstadt. It has a wonderfully tiled big square along the harbor with lots of restaurants. The town's white washed houses are delightful. It has a nice cathedral with a huge, beautifully restord mosaic along the floor of the cathedral. Visiting the historic castello is advisable. Walking the small pretty streets with its shops, cafes is very pleasant.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Nice beaches, plenty of fast food vendors, or dine-in restaurants if you prefer. Beaches were very clean, and locals very helpful. Prices were very reasonable too, with local shops providing local produce. For a real treat, try Cosimino Restaurant on Via Cosimo Albano; you can book a table overlooking the sea - its great food, and a fabulous atmosphere. It was not a noisy resort, in fact, we thought it was quiet, however, on weekends there was live music after dark. If you are planning a stay, Porto Cesareo is the perfect place to unwind and capture some Italian sunshine.Guest review byJeffUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A great place to stay if you want to be situated near a wonderful beach, and visit other places in the area. We visited late September, so the crowd was really off, and the place was very relaxed and quiet. You do need a car if you want to visit the whole area.Guest review byMarijaNorth Macedonia - 10.0

A truly beautiful place, so much to see and some great restaurants. The museums, churches, architecture all beautiful. I would say three days would be ideal, an excellent place for a short break. Traffic into the old town is restricted across the middle opf the day, which enhances the appeal.Guest review bySueUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Tenuta Cursano is a wonderful place to stay.
Tenuta Cursano is a wonderful place to stay. Silvia and Marcello make you feel completely at home. They are very hospitable and have worked hard over the past few years to convert a farm into a beautiful vacation home. We had a wonderful vacation and were able to take fun trips to cities and the coast from here.Guest review byEdwinNetherlands
