It feels like an oasis. The grounds are spacious and well kept with lots of places to sit and relax. They served lunch and dinner, and breakfast, so you never had to leave if you didn’t want. And the pier was fantastic for going in the water and watching the sunset.

The hotel is brand new. The rooms were spacious and had everything we needed. There is a large pool that was wonderful for swimming and relaxing. The food at the restaurant was excellent. We plan to visit Karimunjawa again. We will definitely be staying at Narayana.

Beautiful grounds, outstanding dorm quarters and an absolute bang for your buck, but what truly makes this place extraordinary is its staff. I came down with some kind of unclassified respiratory funk during my two week stay here and the staff went above and beyond to help me sort it out, including taking me to the local nurse who helped me drug it into submission. They are honest brokers who truly care about their guests. I haven’t enough kind words to say.

Very close to harbour, restaurants, alun-alun, pharmacy, mini markets, ATM, and also not too far to go to the famous sunset beach, bobby beach. Perfect location. Very quiet at night too. I was in doubt when we had to go inside the small alley, but once you are inside, it was a very warming place. Bang Jawe and his girlfriend also very attentive to all of our questions and helped us to arrange motor and snorkelling trip, and prepared special breakfast too! RECOMMENDED and definitely will come back Balcony directly placed in front of the water, smaller than it look from the picture, but very comfortable to hang out and waiting for the sunset (you can see sunset there too!) Also, very safe. we left our bag in the lobby floor, and nobody touch it. One more thing, don't forget to pet MARLIN, the snow white cat

    There's not an awful lot to do, but that's the pleasure of the place, sadly you are charged to go on the beach- who owns the beach? not sure if this is legit. and sadly people leave their litter everywhere too.

    Karimunjawa is actually an archipelago with 20 Island, and is not only the main one. Surrounded of nature, we can do all kind of plans, between just relax and disconnect, to enjoy diving in one of the small island which btw all of them have a beautiful coral reef, or just enjoy the beach. The town have also a night market where you can enjoy a fantastic fish and seafood dinner. Definitely, Kaminun Jawa offer so many options, always respecting the environment and the nature.

    We liked the quiet atmosphere and lack of development. We found the choices of restaurants quite poor It was obvious the economy of the island was poorl as there were lots of unoccupied, poorymaintained properties. We hated the litter and lack of cleanliness on the island.

    it was a good place, but not worth the effort needed to reach the island. you should specifically arrange a private trip and ask them to bring you to good spot on the sea, or else they will put you on a public group and bring you to a sub par spots to avoid the group from thrashing the corals.

    Nice beaches, clean water. Bobby's beach was our favorite. Some beaches are located within walking distance, you'll need a scooter for the others. You have to pay a cleaning fee to access some of the beaches but it's worth it, those beaches are spotless. You could call the island authentic but beware what you wish for. Not recommended for vegetarians or vegans. Dishes advertised on the menu are often not available: the famous sorry no have. Dirty general feel, open sewage in the center of the village, trash everywhere in town, and foul smell. Some rooms don't have flushing toilets, sink or mirror in their bathrooms. Worst of all are the mosques located every 100 meters, with their ear-deafening noise pollution that is guaranteed to wake you up at 4 am each day. No escaping them unless you stay outside the village but we've seen them in the middle of nowhere too. Dirty rooms, particularly bathrooms. I had to scrub the toilet clean before we could use it, it was filthy. And last but not least: the lack of hygiene in food preparation and sometimes what seems to be unlaundered bedsheets, pillowcases and blankets. Yuk
