The hotel was very stylish with everything a travler would need. Great bar/restaurant area and the staff was wonderful. Beds and bedding were very nice and comfortable and the room/bathroom was very clean on arrival. The location was perfect for our needs at the University of Iowa. I just wish I would have booked at this location for parents weekend. Next year.

    Des Moines, Iowa might just be the cleanest city we’ve ever stepped foot in—like someone hit the whole place with Windex and a giant mop. We wandered through downtown, dodging packs of fit folks on their celebratory struts for the National Senior Olympics. The river looked like it had one too many and spilled over its dams, flooding the lower walkway. Zombie Burger was a certified hangout spot, and the sculpture garden? A few unexpected gems made it well worth the stroll.

    I was there to visit family for Thanksgiving, so didn't see much of Council Bluffs.. I grew up there and there have been a lot of changes.. If you are going to visit Council Bluffs, I recommend the Dodge House tour..

    They charged for early check in fee.

    They charged for early check in fee. Client did not tell us there was a fee. They charged me $100 for a set of towels they said was stained. I asked to see the towels, they said no. If u are being charged a $100 for a set of towels, a customer should be able to see why I had no choice but to stay another night, gave my card to agent and he said it was declined. I looked online at my acct and it was pending. I offered to show him And he said no

    The room was fine. It was clean. The breakfast was the we worst I ever had at a hotel. There were only 3 egg circles and 3 sausage patties left as nd they were cold. There were other options but I stay away from carbs.

    Outstanding service.

    Outstanding service. The front desk lady was so far beyond outstanding that it is impossible to define her. We were a group of 7 older couples 70-80), and she made sure that our rooms were located together. Several of our group were handicapped, and she that they were well taken care of. She offered excellent restaurant choices, and gave us directions to numerous places we wanted to go. She saw to it that we had tables and chairs so we could play cards and games that we had brought with us. None of us could praise her highly enough. She was a delightful hostess in every way.     We were traveling for a long distance and the main reason I was unhappy is bc we couldn't shower. There wasn't water to our room.Made for an unpleasant road trip. Employees were wonderful to the best of there abilities and our room was perfectly clean.

    I was very surprised when visiting the Iowa State U campus...

    I was very surprised when visiting the Iowa State U campus how nice it was. The school seems to be great. In talking to people at our hotel and places we ate it is a very educated place and not just some AG campus. The food we had was great too. It was super clean and safe too.

    I love West Des Moines.

    I love West Des Moines. Every time I go there I notice something different. You can spend at least a week here to see everything, and that's just the West Des Moines/Valley Junction/Waukee area. That doesn't include Des Moines and other areas.

    The hotel was great, My Place Hotel.

    The hotel was great, My Place Hotel. With rain in the forecast we did not go to Adventureland Water Park, instead found Altoona Aquatic Center and it was great. A lot of places to eat and we did that as well. Found a unique place called Sugar Shack that the inside is like an old diner and had a fantastic breakfast there. There is certainly a lot to do in Altoona. Would definitely go back.
