Going around for a drive especially around the mountains is quite fun. You can also visit a couple of duty free shops near the freeport & dine for some seafood near the coastline. It can be quite far though going to the next town for more places to visit.

We've visited the Five fingers, the Claubel or Hawla Beach, the lighthouse and the Jairus Farm resort. We did not dare to dip in the Hawla beach. The natural spring water in Jairus farm resort was a redeemer. Mariveles would have been a pretty sight to see if it weren't for the trash. The waters in the beaches we've visited looked murky. They said it was because of the trash coming from Manila bay. But walking around the streets in the city center, in some of the residential areas and in their ports, you'll see that you cannot put the blame on just one factor alone. We saw trash everywhere. Most of areas we've visited looked neglected.

Mariveles is one of the town in Bataan.

Mariveles is one of the town in Bataan. It is well known for the Bataan death march markers where it signifies the beginning of a long journey of the Americans and Filipinos who fought and was defeated during the war with the Japanese. Aside from its historical attributes, Mariveles is a great spot for the adventure seekers. The cove to cove hopping in five fingers are surely worth of its prices to pay the bankeros for cliff diving, swimming and joy ride! The light house in with hills of rocks are indeed instagram worthy, however according to our tour guide that scenery is now in jeopardy. As per him the neighboring factory is planning to tear down the hills and close the beach. Mariveles also produce cashew nuts and locals are selling it in a fair price(way cheaper than the cashews sold in manila). Overall, Mariveles is place worth travelling too!
