Guesthouse covered our expectations for such type of a property. Very clean. Friendly and nice personnel with initially very serious faces :). Amazing kitchen in the Mehana. All traditional dishes prepared in the best way, very quickly. Long list menu, big, even very big portions, and expression " we do not offer this at the moment" was unknown, no matter how hard i tried to surprise them with an order.
In summer time it can be even nicer, as place has a small open swimming pool.

The service was excellent. We had a late check in around 10pm and it was no problem. We stayed in a suite and it was absolutely beautiful, even better than the pictures. The location is also great, within a short walk of the center and many museums.

Amazing place with impressive view towards the town. The rooms were clean and had everything you need. The Mehana is a great addition to the place, especially when you stay there with a big group of people. We had our morning coffee and breakfasts there.

Koprivshtitsa is famously preserved as an example of a Bulgarian town from the time of the Bulgarian renaissance in the late 19th-century. It is unusual in the sense that the traditional houses and other buildings of the town haven't been swallowed up in a ring of modern apartment blocks. And yet, at the same time, it's not a 'fake' Disneyfied version of the past - the houses you visit (where significant historical figures were born and raised) really are the houses in which those figures were born and raised. It's a place where you really get a sense of Bulgaria's history - and which, rather neatly, combines all that with some rather lovely places to eat, drink and relax.

A beautiful, atmospheric village with a proud history.
A beautiful, atmospheric village with a proud history. Koprivshtitsa has a good range of restaurants and cafes and a car park in the centre ( but expect to pay) as well as a few supermarkets, an ATM and a pharmacy. The village is overrun by day trippers on some summer days but is peaceful in the evenings. The streets are cobbled, and hilly, in some parts and impractical to drive down so you will need to park your car and walk. The central part of the village is flat and is accessible for anyone physically disabled. If you are coming by train, bear in mind you will have to take a taxi as the station is a very long walk from the village. Koprivshtitisa is a little twee but, every now and then, you see an enchanting glimmer of the place as it is in winter and and as it was in the past.

I really enjoy going to Koprivshtitca.
I really enjoy going to Koprivshtitca. It is a very nice town in all seasons. The architecture and the history will truly stun you. Make sure you have comfy shoes and just walk in the small streets! Go to the monument to see the view, visit the old churches. Me personally always stop to eat at the Chuchura restaurant (but don't expect fast service there ;) ). Just enjoy!

All house-museums are beautiful and quite informative with boards explaining what the visitor is looking at both at Bulgarian and English.
For lunch and dining, I'd recommend Galeria Restaurant and their Oasis dessert (strained yogurt with blueberry jam) is a must! On the other hand, Diado Liben Restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere inside but not as tasty.
Bring or rent a bike because Koprivshtitsa is the perfect city to ride one for a bit. Don't skip on the horse riding either - there are some breathtaking routes!

A small an quiet town-museum/reservation, in the style of Bulgarian revival from the 19th century, the place where the April 1876 Rebellion started. The houses of famous rebellion leaders and famous Bulgarian poets are located there. The Town is a place with unique cultural and architectural atmosphere. In the same time it is small, easy to walk around and there are (still) not floods of tourists to make your stay uncomfortable. There are many traditional style restaurants serving traditional Bulgarian dishes, which are quite delicious, and cafes. I'd recommend 1 opposite to Oslekova house, where you can taste home-made pancakes with homemade jams. Mostly everywhere the staff is very polite and cooperative. The town is surrounded by forests so there are options for people who like walking in the nature.

One of the most remarkable examples of Bulgarian Ottoman era architecture, atmospheric and beautiful. Packed with museums and monuments of history, architecture and ethnography. One of the wealthiest in its time, the town was the scene of famous episodes of Bulgarians' national liberation struggle of the 1870s, and home of some to prominent revolutionaries, poets and other public figures of the era. Slightly damaged by commercialisation and modernisation, but still quite enjoyable. Do not miss the massive Folklor Festival. And plan a day-long hike in the beautiful mountains around.
We stayed for 2 nights at Dona Guest House and we are already talking about how we should go back as soon as possible! It was absolutely amazing- clean, authentic, our room and the whole house were decorated with such a great taste, following the traditions of Koprivshtitsa. The host was lovely! And nothing can compare to the feeling you get when you go on the balcony early in the morning with a book and simply enjoy the view. Location was also 10/10. We are really thankful to Dona Guest House for the pleasant stay!!!
Gozbarov's Guest House definitely belongs to those properties that remain in lasting memory. It is wonderfully immersed in the tissue of serene area of the small and fairy Bulgarian town of Koprivshtitsa. This is a great choice because of its traditional looks, wonderfully arranged house architecture surrounded with many flowers and ornamental plants. The lady owner was very kind and helpful and has prepared tasty breakfasts. Great stay in wonderful small town in wonderful property. Definitely recommended.
It's definitely not my first time in Koprivshtitsa, but it's the first time I've stayed in such a great place. It helps you feel even more connected with the town and it's history. Cosy apartment with all facilities, large yard and the best summer kitchen! I wish we had more time, so that we don't have to leave The Gates Apartments. Next time we'll surely stay there again. And am advice- you can ask the host for breakfast. You won't be sorry - delicious Bulgarian breakfast!
Perfect location with a panoramic view of the mountain all around you and just 3-4 minutes walk down to the town center. Plenty of parking space around the house. Floor heating in the room. Large bed with comfortable mattress. Spotless clean with fresh sheets and towels. Android TV with paid sports channels. Informative and polite owner but never invasive in your decisions - just what you want from an owner. One of the best places to stay in Koprivshtitsa for sure.
The hotel is placed just about 2min from the very center of the city. The room was nice, clean, equiped with standart stuff you need for a stay. The temp in there through the day was nice for August. There's parking place on the street nearby, but since it was festival time and some special organization on these days - there's payed parking with a lot of space like 3min away.
The food in the restaurant is amazing and the staff were excellent.
Amazing hotel! We ate dinner and breakfast here and both were fantastic. So many homemade items. The owners are incredibly helpful, ready to address any need. They set up dinner for us in the main room of the hotel so our kids (three generations traveling together) could sleep upstairs in the bedrooms. We ate breakfast outside in the courtyard and it was so tranquil. The best place I’ve stayed in my many trips to Bulgaria to visit family.
Me and my family have been staying in Koprivshtitsa for the last few summers in late August and Mavrudieva House is the best place in town. The hosts are remarkable people and we thank them very much. The house is up above the town and the views from there are astonishing. About 30 meters away from the house there is a public water sink and that's a treasure. Water is life and it's so near the house and in it.
what a beautiful hotel - the place was magical; full of character and presented with love. Very clean and tidy and lovely atmosphere. the host was very understanding - my travel was delayed and I arrived really late for check in but she waited up for me and greeted me warmly in spite of the predicament
An amazing, super neat, convenient hotel with tasty home-made breakfasts every morning. The house is elegant and cozy, a very simple yet tasteful wooden building. The mattress was new and I felt flying away when getting asleep. A perfect place to stay in calmness and peace.
We had a great stay in a guesthouse that seems to take you back in time. The perfect way to spend the night in the historic village of Koprivshtitsa. On top of that we we’re greeted by a very friendly hostess who also made us a nice breakfast in the morning.
This was simply the best place I have visited in quite a while. You will receive an experience, rather than a room for the night. I highly recommend that you pay a visit to Koprivshtitsa and that's the ideal space.
Stayed there for the second time, favorite place in Koprivshtitsa, everything is great - friendly and kind hosts, nice breakfast, lovely and super clean rooms, perfect communication.
Historic, authentic, charming - the perfect place to experience the magic of Koprivshtitsa. What makes the experience extra-special is the absolutely charming owner.
The location is amazing and the hosts were very hospitable. you’re right in the heart of Koprivshtitsa, and we slept very soundly in the comfortable beds.
