The setting of the accommodation was perfect, beautiful surrounds - ah the serenity.
Gorgeous, comfy, spic and span retreat with all the amenities (and even fresh flowers!); especially loved the bath. Property has hares, kangaroos, and a dam full of ducks :) Close to Hanging Rock, Trentham Falls, Daylesford etc. Dark sky area so can see loads of stars. Loads to do and much to explore both on the property and in nearby towns.
Dave was very friendly as I sent my teens to shut the gate and they tried to knock on the main house to get back to me. Embarrassing! (They just had to retrace their steps and not bother the hosts.) Anyway, it was good I met him as I had to ask for help with the DVD/TV settings, and he came in and helped me, when I messaged. Good kitchen with all we needed. Very much appreciated the things like Glad Wrap etc. Comfy main bed. My teen who slept on the pull-out couch thingy didn't complain of anything to do with the bed, either. Nice setting, with natural views (saw a kangaroo on the property) and quiet enough for me who's a light sleeper. Not far to Trentham and we did day trips to Trentham Falls, Daylesford and Lavandula Swiss Italian Farm, Trentham (to do Wombat State Forest walk etc) I added a Snapchat that one of my teens took.
The house was much more than we expected with every little thing was catered for. We were welcomed with an amazing welcome package which started our girls weekend with a smile. The house was absolutely perfect, set out well for space and privacy if needed if you had two families, beautiful back yard with lots of spots to sit and enjoy. Everyone commented on the amazing accommodation and location to town. I can’t recommend this property enough and will definitely be back. Thank you to the wonderful hosts Mia and Tony who couldn’t do enough to make our stay enjoyable.
Everything about this location & accommodation was amazing.
Spacious and beautifully presented. Well equipped and gorgeous garden
Clean , spacious , well stocked with all you need , extremely comfortable and a quiet location Excellent communication and very friendly
Breakfast was modest in range (Continental) but the most amazing quality, bread freshly baked in-house, fresh berries/yoghurt/muesli and orange juice, topped off by the best barista coffee I have had in a long time. Nearby cafes could provide for those wanting a more substantial cooked breakfast but this was perfect for my needs. The hosts were really charming and had their own interesting stories to tell, a creative (TV producer) and a daredevil (motorcycle racer). You can see that they are proud and passionate about their historic house and its surrounds. The room was very comfortable, perhaps a little on the sparse side for some (e.g. wood floors, no TV or bar fridge), but full-on with historic charm from the nineteenth century, including sitting room and dining room downstairs decorated for the period, I loved it. The bed was particularly comfortable. Location was good, in a quiet part of town but just a short walk to the restaurants, bakery, pubs etc that Woodend is known for. Even the Parkrun through the beautiful Campaspe River parklands conveniently started directly across the road.
