Amazing country house with old Colonial vibes. We felt like we were transported back in time to one of those Bridgerton houses. The hosts are such lovely people, we had the best time getting to know them and their pets (Bodie, Charlie and Muddy waters). It was such a relaxing holiday and we highly recommend this place!

One of the nicest places I've stayed in regional Vic - so cosy, clean and beautifully decorated. Mary and Derek are excellent hosts (along with the roos!) and have thought of every detail in setting up The Retreat.

    The house exceeded our expectations. Stylish, clean, very comfortable and with everything we could possibly need, from umbrellas to outside games. The beds were comfortable with quality linen, modern bathrooms with plush towels, and a well decked out kitchen. An easy, flat 10 minute walk from the Main Street, hotels, brewery, bars, restaurants and supermarket. Our host was prompt with communication and so helpful. We would definitely stay again, and highly recommend.

    Everything about this property is perfect. The home is warm, carefully and thoughtfully appointed, super comfortable, cute little touches everywhere (welcome basket of bread and jam and little vases of handpicked flowers), excellent quality linens and a full kitchen of everything you need to cook up a feast to feed a crowd. The outside has so many sitting spots and there was chopped wood ready for the outdoor fire. PERFECT!

    The location and views. Pre-checkin communication and local area notes. Kitchenette set up and small food packages and presentation were great. ( Just need more oats for breakfast rather than coco pops.)

    Very comfortable beds and pillows, large bathrooms, plenty of space for 4 couples to relax, only a short walk to the shops and main street. The house was well appointed and clean, and the kitchen has all the appliances and utensils.

    Beautiful scenic location with view of Hanging Rock and lots of kangaroos. Clean, attractive and well appointed room with plenty of storage space and good kitchenette with generous breakfast provisions. There is an outdoor bbq area and a communal lounge supplied with books, games, and extra fruit, biscuits and more.

    The location was stunning and we loved seeing the kangaroos at dusk and morning. Kitchenette was very well equipped and breakfast supplies were generous and tasty. The dual shower felt luxurious. Maps and brochures, games, books etc in the shared living area were a nice touch. Liked we had a little balcony and table. Also liked the shared pergola area with firepit and bbq, though too cold for us to use it. There is bath in a shared bathroom (unfortunately didn't get to use it as someone else beat me to it).

    beautifully appointed accomodation. beds very comfortable ,bathroom spacious, kitchen facilities more than adequate & breakfast supplies delicious . common area , gardens & bbq area were lovely but we did not need to use them . Lovely views from our room of Hanging Rock & lots of kangaroos every morning & evening.
