I visited Rapa Nui for two nights in December 2024 and Kitai Cabanas was really the best place to stay and made my short trip wonderful. The hosts are lovely persons and make the guests to feel welcome. Even before arrival communication was great and all questions have been answered quickly. Pick up at the airport was included and drop off at departure as well. The cottage is spacious, clean and a fully eqipped kitchen (which I did not use though, as Kitai Cabanas is next to many good restaurants). Water dispender is in the room, which was convinient. Room, bath and kitchen have been clean and I had a nice terrace with garden view. There are many lovely cats arround. Bed was comfortable. Wifi worked well. I booked also an island tour with the hosts and Kevin is an excellent guide. Very knowlegable about the history and culture of Rapa Nui.

Everything was simply perfect. Lucy and Juan are incredible hosts. They took care of us since the first moment we stepped out of the plane, actually even before, suggesting us good restaurants to visit and a great guide for the island (Noeraŋi, highly suggested). The Hare o Haupiano is a family-run cute hotel, immersed in the nature but just 10 min on foot from the city center and many restaurants. During the staying Lucy and Juan helped us a lot, especially with my ankle, which I sprained during an excursion. When we left they gave us two presents and Lucy gave a pair of wonderful earrings to my wife as a farewell present. Such nice people and such a nice B&B at the same time are difficult to find. We can just suggest them and support Hare o Haupiano. Maururu!!

When my Uber dropped me off here, he said that I would enjoy the neighborhood since it was safe and quiet. He was right! The moment I walked in I felt like I was in a sanctuary. This is one of the best hostels that I have stayed in this month. The kitchen is well appointed and the vibe is immaculate! If you stay here, use the space they have set aside for meditation. Brilliant!
