We arrived at the train station in Guilin, planning to go to the Rice terraces by bus or taxi. However, because we don't know Chinese, we didn't know exactly all the details of the route (we did everything at last moment, don't repeat). So we booked this hotel at the last minute, largely because May speaks English. Almost immediately she helped us with a taxi at a good price. It turns out that if you call Didi to the village, you have to pay the taxi driver to enter the rice terraces, as most drivers don't have one. Pingyang is a very authentic village, there were minimal tourists in the village when we visited, for us it was an amazing experience. We decided to stay for two nights, to enjoy the mountain views and the fresh clean air. May is a true angel, we trusted her 100%, she helped us in so many situations. The hotel lobby with stunning wood furniture, unbelievably beautiful! Tourist tip: Come to Pingan, stay overnight and hike to Dazhai early in the morning. Enjoy the views and the silence. Have lunch in Dazhai and take a car back to Pingan.

I have been to many countries and this is the best/favourite accommodation I've ever booked for any holiday. The villa rooms were incredible - amazing view, perfect air-conditioning, spacious beyond belief, tastefully aesthetic. The nicer rooms with the river view are east-facing, perfect for watching the sunrise. There is a tea room and open area on the top floor which I used to host local friends, also having a great view of the river. We also managed to catch the dying embers of the sunset. There is a nice common area on the fourth floor with a kitchen, washing machine, fridge, and a large dining table as well. The host is super accommodating and helpful, offering 24-hour support over WeChat. Whenever I reached out for help for accidentally locked doors or to make minor changes to our booking, he always responded quickly.
