The Ryokan was superb. The hot springs were great, the food was excellent and the portions were enormous. The service was wonderful and friendly.

Situated in a tranquil area in Gifu Region, a 52-minute drive away from JR Takayama Station, Mozumo boasts a hot-spring bath and rooms decorated with modern Japanese interior. Absolutely LOVED our time at Mozumo. The facilities are beautiful and the staff was incredible. The level of hospitality we received was on another level. The private onsen was also a highlight of our stay. We enjoyed our dinner and breakfast experience so much, the lady who served us was knowledgeable about every dish and answered all our questions, she was so warm and lovely (I wish we had caught her name!) Would recommend 100% for anyone looking for a unique ryokan experience in a beautiful environment.

Reopened after renovation in 2022, Auberge Hidanomori is situated in quiet hills, a 10-minute shuttle ride from JR Takayama Station. This Auberge is so beautiful and charming that we enjoyed every moment we stayed there

Offering traditional Japanese-style accommodation with spacious public baths, Yatsusankan Over 6 years old is a 6-minute walk from JR Hidafurukawa Train Station. Everything was incredible. The room with the Mountain View was beautiful. I spent so much time in the open air bath and it was so relaxing. The Kaiseki meals were some of the best and most authentic meals I ever had. The staff is so lovely too. Every detail was perfect, down to them waving goodbye to us as we left. Highly recommend!!!

It gave free entrance ticket to the big public onsen which is a great extra benefit.

Gujo Hachiman is a lovely small town, and あぽろん is ideally located as a base for a visit. The accommodation is shared with the owners, but is private. Bedrooms are upstairs, but the bathroom and toilet is downstairs. The hosts were very helpful, despite having limited English, thanks to Google translate.
