Sakuya was a delight. it seems it’s run by a husband and wife. they picked us up from the train station. offered delicious and nutritious home cooked breakfasts and dinner for a reasonable price. it was the end of winter so still the slow season and we were their during the week so we basically had the place to ourself. beautiful views of fuji from every window. the onsen was lovely. I would recommend trying to get in before sunset so you see the beautiful views.

We had the best time. We arrived completely drenched from rain and the owner offered to dry our things and was taking care of our shoes and everything the whole time and he speaks great English. The surroundings is so peaceful.

I also really love the "storage container" aesthetic - thought it was very cool. The space inside was also clean. I would definitely book again if I come back to this area in Japan.
