Auckland is a real cultural mix with strong Asian, European, Maori and Polynesian influences, celebrated in frequent festivals and sporting events. Some examples of these cultures can be seen at the Auckland War Memorial Museum, one of the best in New Zealand. For more, try the upmarket dining of the Viaduct Harbour.

We were here as a family.
We were here as a family. It is perhaps not the most family friendly place right in the city so we drove out to other places outside of the city everyday.
There were lots of car parks doing cheap "early bird" car parks so parking is good value for a capital city making driving more affordable. Parking on the road costs alot more though.
The food options are good. From food courts to K Road, the Sky Tower and more fine dining. There is a new food court and new shopping lanes in the old shopping mall on the end of queens Street near britomart that was quite cool and the shopping options and quality has greatly increased since last time I was in Auckland.
There are a number of options for work out classes and gyms including hot yoga and hiit plates.
We found that there was a general calm about the place compared to many capital cities and although it rained alot we found that the sun returned quite quickly.
There are lots of pay to ride scooters dotted around good for saving the children's legs. It cost around ten dollars to get from 2/3 way down queen street to the bottom near the harbour.
There is an arcade and cinema halfway down queen street, the arcade was very reasonably priced and you top up a card which you can use over different occasions if you want to.
The sky tower was a nice evening with a great view of sunset and the city.
People are very friendly and chill here.
There is good access to soo many beaches and the many other tourists sports like the mineral baths, glow worms, lake taupo, the many many beaches and bays, a butterfly park and rainbows end also within easy driving distance and lots of malls just off motorway 1 both North and south in direction.

This was our first time in Auckland and just wanted to get to know the city a little better. The Sky Tower is a must see and will give you a great sense of where everything is. We enjoyed some cocktails and food at the restaurant late in the afternoon and watched the sun go down. I was quite surprised at the number of historical and cultural activities available and wish we could have spent more time. If you get out of town you can discover a lot of beautiful parks and monuments

I lived in Auckland previously for about 10 years.
I lived in Auckland previously for about 10 years. So I know the city well. Traffic in this city is terrible, so you might want to avoid leaving your accommodation early in the morning or driving around from 3pm to 6pm on weekdays. It is a very convenient place for shopping, but it is not safe in some parts. t is best to avoid staying in the western and southern parts of Auckland if possible.
Fantastic stay at Aarangi Motel. Beautiful large clean room, just 100m from a lovely beach, bars and bus stop to the city centre ( buses every 15 minutes) Despite the weather being very hot and humid the room was beautifully airy and we rarely needed to use the two fans provided. Veronica was a great host and, nothing was too much trouble. With access to Auckland CBD just a 15 minute bus ride away I think we would always stay here in preference to a city hotel / apartment. Thank you very much Team Aarangi, you made our stay superb
Front door has mortice lock, no danger of being locked out or latch being carded.
The room is as advertised except no balcony, safety deposit box, ironing facilities, spa bath or minibar, Although on front of house not noisy, I was not there during the day but the street seemed quiet when I was. close to bus routes into Auckland, the house is in Parnell midway between Parnell and Newmarket (Extensive shopping) train stations (For airport/CBD). I’d stay there again if I had reason to visit the Parnell area.
Rooms ate super comfy with lots of space. Enormous beds with crisp clean sheets make for a great night sleep. Housekeeping do a fabulous job in keeping Rooms clean and tidy.
Friendly knowledgeable concierge team who are always on hand when needed, always greeted us with a smile.
Love that the express Airport bus drop off/pick up and Intercity buses are located at the back of the hotel...so easy to get to.
Short walk to city centre and shopping.
Fancy hotel without charging the extra cost for the design.
Confortable public places with a lot of amenities useful for budget travelers.
Location is amazing. Ok, not in the exact heart of Auckland but pretty close, so don't pay the extra value to be exactly there.
Ok, my room didn't had a window but that's why I was paying a very affordable price for the basic necessities, no need more for a couple of days in the city.
I love this hotel, it is modern and funky, very comfortable rooms, we had a large twin with 2 x double beds with a great view over Auckland Harbour. The bathroom facilities caters for all your needs, tooth brushes, toothpaste, razors, vanity sets etc.
Valet parking is a bonus and well priced at $45 per night.
Location is perfect for shopping, trains, buses and bars/restaurants are abundant.
Everything was fine at this hotel except for one main thing.
Auckland CBD continues to be a long-standing subway construction-nightmare and sadly this hotel is in the middle of it.
You can get around ok, but driving in it is nasty, and it’s also just a horrible look.
Perhaps it will be completed this year, but for right now, I’d stay away from the construction. Down by the Viaduct for example.
Spacious, comfortable, clean, modern unit with plenty of free parking on site. A 4 minutes drive from Auckland Airport infact it is a walkable distance. Close to food outlets and superette. Very comfortable bed with good quality cotton linen and clean pillow protectors on nice pillows.
Staff are very pleasant and helpful.
Would definitely stay again when I'm in Auckland.
The hotel is directly in the CBD and is a little tricky to find if driving for the first time. It was perfectly located to everything central. I felt it pricey for the offerings. The staff were all great and attentive. I'm just not sure how it differentiates to the SO/Auckland or the others in the area to charge the extra vs. what the other hotels in the area offer.
It was a very nice hotel at a reasonable price! Close to the airport and it takes approx 20 minutes to travel to the CBD via uber. I really love the self check-in and check-out service as it is just efficient. Has never seen one before in any hotels but it's a quick process rather than having to queue up at the counter.
The room is spacious and comfortable.
Good location close to Auckland Airport. Nostalgic Kiwi Bacon statue on roof. Staff member was very helpful and obliging.
24 hour checkin. Free parking. Upstairs room was quiet. Bed comfortable. Plenty of hot water in shower. Ok for a last minute booking and bed for the night close to airport after a late flight. Free parking outside.
The hotel is well-located near Auckland's city centre, viaduct and universities.
The room was spacious with a large bed, big self-service kitchen and a balcony with good view.
I particularly liked the washing/dryer combination in the unit.
Staff was very helpful when there was a problem with the automatic credit card payment.
We stayed overnight before an international flight. Couldn't fault it - very clean, bathroom looked recently renovated and had plenty of amenities. Solid room service menu. Free overnight parking. Really coudn't ask for more from an airport hotel, will definitely stay again if needed.
We landed very late at night into Auckland International Airport and we decided to spend the night before commencing our travels the next day. You walk out the Airport door, cross the road and you are at the hotel door! So convenient. Lovely hotel, great breakfast, terrific staff.
I have used this hotel before as the price fits into my budget.
I'm not a typical customer here as it is mostly for airport users, but it is nice and central.
You can park your car outside the door, I really like this feature.
The continental breakfast was ok.
Comfy bed:)
We were in Auckland for one night prior to our international trip. The Ocean breeze hotel is situated in a quiet area within 30 minutes of the airport in off peak times. Free parking. Great views. A little dated but a great start to our holidays
The hotel has a good car parkinf, and it isn't too far from Auckland airport. The bed was comfortable, and the room size was good. The hotel is new so everything was in good condition. The breakfast was very adequate with enough choices.
Good location in Auckland CBD - you can walk most places quite comfortably (albeit uphill back to hotel).
Clean spacious room with good WiFi.
Staff friendly and helpful with booking Airport Taxi.
Good range of facilities, not too far from the airport - which was useful for us to catch an international flight in the morning and only averagely expensive compared to other Auckland hotels.
Great budget hotel for our overnight stay at Auckland Airport after arriving too late for domestic connection. Fantastic cafe/bar right next door serving awesome food.
