This was my first trip to Destin but will definitely not be my last. We visited Crab Island one day, which was a great experience and very enjoyable, especially for families. We ate dinner out every night and did not have a bad meal anywhere. Highly recommend Louisiana Lagniappe, Surf Hut, AJs, McGuires, Pompano Joes, and Tailfins. We ate brunch at Crackings the morning we visited Crab Island, amazing food and portion sizes. My wife and I stopped at the Ice Cream Shoppe one night on the way home from supper, and that place had an amazing atmosphere. the place that we stayed at was the best area. it was not way to busy. my only thing was all the blue rental umbrellas that was so close to each other that it was hard to get other in so that we could watch our kids and grandkids play in the water. but each to their own on the beach rentals. we bought our own and was able to find a spot each time to be close to the beach. We love Destin - specifically, Miramar Beach.
We love Destin - specifically, Miramar Beach. We've been going there for years. It is always relaxing and a wonderful vacation. Every time we have to leave for home, I say I want to live near the beach year-round. I hope someday that will be a reality. I prefer Destin over Fort Walton or Pensacola. Fort Walton gives a sort of cheap vibe, but Destin always feels upscale and classy. Pensacola is fine enough, but I feel the beaches in Destin are superior. The weekend we stayed in Destin (Memorial Day weekend), the water was as beautiful as I'd ever seen it. The water was so clear, we could see to the sand below for several hundred feet. Not a bit of algae was floating in the water, which was so nice. The beaches are well-maintained with plenty of lifeguards, and it's always a restful, relaxing experience.Guest review byKimiUnited States
