Idstein is a lovely friendly little town with a medieval...
Idstein is a lovely friendly little town with a medieval centre dating back to th 13th and 14th centuries. Locals are friendly and helpful. Good restaurants and cafes in the centre of the old town. Just 30 minutes by taxi from Frankfurt main airport.

Great stop over before catching a plane out of Frankfurt when traveling far. We have been staying in Idstein for the past 4 years before family, friends, or ourselves fly out of Frankfurt. It is so convenient, beautiful and accommodating! We have suggested this idea to many Americans. As Americans we are treated very well in Idstein!!

I arrived at 9pm, after an 11hr drive from the UK to find that the reception closes for check-in at 4pm on a Sunday. I re-read booking.com order confirmation and right at the bottom it does note this. It should be at the top for a 1 night Sunday booking. I slept in the van in the car park for £110. Not the hotel's fault! I normally have to check in after 3, this caught me out. Be aware!!

What a nice surprise to find this nice hotel in the heart of charming Idstein, with some nice restaurants. The new owner was very hospitable, service oriented and friendly. Rooms were all you need, with comfortable beds and a spotless bathroom. Great value for money!
