Big, comfortable, and very clean room and shower. Excellent establishment, you walk in, and you understand how well maintained and looked after it is straight away. Private parking was a plus.
The staff were very professional, the food was great. The location is excellent, on the river, next to a few little walk/hike pathways.
We had a great experience.
Esher is well situated just outside of London. Central London is an easy train ride from Esher to Waterloo, I reckon it's less than half hour away. Esher has great pubs & restaurants and lots of lovely green areas. It's also home to Sandown Park racecourse. A lovely part of the world.

A lovely little town in Surrey.
A lovely little town in Surrey. Some very decent restaurants nearby. We also visited Cobham, Guildford and Dorking. There is a lot of British heritage to enjoy, and some charming National Trust locations in the area as well.

Esher is a compact town with a proliferation of estate agents and restaurants.
We ate at the Cote Brasserie where we had a most enjoyable evening
and, bearing in mind this was Esher, it was very good value.
Getting around Esher on foot is easy but in a car is decidedly more difficult and parking can also be problematic.
The rooms were large and comfortable. Everything you need for your comfort was provided, coffee machine, snacks and mini bar (extra cost), fresh milk which as a tea drinker was welcome. Hotel next to a busy road so secondary glazing was important, as was aircon. Breakfasts with a modern twist if you wanted it. Great choice of food served in the dining pods in the garden. Staff could not have been more obliging.
The location was lovely. The front beer garden very relaxing. We enjoyed a few drinks and spoke to some of the locals and got a feel for the area. Walked into Esher and had dinner at the Wheatsheaf which was amazing.
Breakfast at the Swan was lovely.
Amazing shower. Lovely touch with the sensor lights in the bathroom, no need to put the big light on.
We recently stayed at The Swan whilst visiting family in Esher. Our room was most comfortable and immaculate as was the attractive ensuite. The staff were very friendly and most efficient. On this occasion we only had breakfast however in the past have also enjoyed dinner. Excellent food and hospitality. looking forward to our next stay. Thank you.
Location in Esher is great! Staff is friendly and helpful! Close walking distance to a vast variety of restaurants and cafes. Tesco Express is a 2 minute walk, and Waitrose is about 5 minutes away. Esher Station is also an easy walk (about 15 minutes).
Tea and coffee facilities in all rooms. Free continental breakfast as well. Plenty of parking.
The food at The Swan is always excellent and service at dinner was great.
There was a slight mix up with one of our rooms which the manager kindly sorted out. The room was clean, well-equipped & bed was comfortable.
Bathroom was excellent - spacious, light and great shower.
Location is excellent - within easy reach of Esher & Claygate.
A great weekend at The Bear. Staff are attentive, helpful and friendly. Location is perfect. Rooms are impeccable: clean, thoughtfully decorated and spacious. Breakfast is served until 11:30am so it’s perfect for those of us who enjoy a relaxing morning. All in all, a great place to stay! We’ll definitely be back.
Staff were great, I was a lone women traveller, they had pre booked a table for my arrival and were very attentive, I stayed in a little cottage to the side of the pub which was lovely and quaint, I was pleasantly supprised. It had all the facilities you need.I would definitely recommend this boutique hotel.
The Bear Inn is a very charming & professionally run hotel. Downstairs is a great local pub with attentive staff, and the hotel up stairs is cosy, quiet & full of character. The bed was extremely comfortable with great beds along with the best hotel breakfast We've ever had!
Great location for a getaway. The hotel has all you would need; the rooms are a good size and clean. The staff are all friendly, too. I did not try the breakfast, but had an evening meal from the bar. I had the burger which was very good. Good selection of beers, too.
I did not use the facilities on this occasion as I was a late arrival. I used the local restaurants as I had stayed at the hotel before and fancied a different style of food. The food is generally good at the hotel but is traditional on the nights in question.
Absolutely lovely lodge and what a traditional Bed and Breakfast should be in the delightful West End, Esher. Edwina was such a fantastic host and ensured that our stay was as comfortable and as flexible as she could offer.
The lady at reception was so helpful and friendly. I had requested an early breakfast and she happoily arranged this for me. The room was spotless. A lovely stay. Wifi was also good which for a hotel these days is rare :)
Very cozy little place with table just out the door where you can enjoy your morning coffee. Close to train station where you can par car for whole day it cost 2£.. Next to door is Spanish restaurant with excellent food.
