Hotel in Windsor City Centre, Windsor
Situated on Windsor High Street, just opposite the famous Windsor Castle, Macdonald Windsor offers bedrooms with free WiFi access throughout the property. The hotel also features a restaurant and bar.... The MacDonald Windsor hotel is a lovely boutique hotel in the beautiful town of Windsor. I've stayed here several times. I find it a delightful place when flying in/out of Heathrow - it's a great alternative to the airport hotels and only a 20 or so minute ride from the airport. Windsor is a quaint town. The hotel is located across the street from Windsor castle and it's wonderful to walk around the town. Lots of shops and pubs to visit! The lobby area of the hotel is gorgeous and the restaurant has wonderful food. If you like Gin, definitely check out their cocktail specialties! The standard rooms are lovely but small, which is very common in the area. The service is very efficient. If you're traveling during the Christmas holidays, you'll enjoy the hotel and town decorations. Love the hotel and the town!

Set in 44 acres of landscaped grounds, the historic De Vere Beaumont Estate is comprised of an 18th-century mansion, a chapel, 75 event spaces and a Georgian White House. The room and bathroom were exceptionally clean, as were all the public areas of the hotel. All of my requests were met. The reception staff were friendly and welcoming (I inadvertently left my reading glasses, housekeeping/reception posted them on to me). All in all a super stay

Many families visiting Windsor loved staying at The Royal Adelaide Hotel, Fairmont Windsor Park and Macdonald Windsor.
We were in Windsor for the Royal Windsor Horse Show and the evening Jubilee it was a fabulous experience deciding which day of the show to go next year! We also visited Windsor Castle and the state apartments it again was a great day out not enough time to see the great park so will definitely be back.
WE loved Windsor, plenty of restaurants, bars, nice shops, lovely walks along the river, changing of the guard - so much to do and so little time to do it. Also plenty of choice in price range of places to eat and drink.
Windsor is more than only Windsor Castle! The parks around the are beautiful. The town itself is not that special. Eton is the neighbouring town, famous for it's college. Unfortunately you won't be able to see a lot of the grounds
A buzzing town steeped in history, I always enjoy my visits to Windsor and this last stay was no exception. The Long Walk and the Great Park are a must as well as of course the Castle and a walk by the river. A boat trip or a trip on the open-top double decker bus are other options. With plenty of places to eat out and Eton in close proximity, Windsor has something for everyone.
Windsor Castle was excellent value for money and the staff were helpful and knowledgeable. It was worth booking in advance. We watched the changing of the guard and it is worth checking the time of this before you arrange your visit. Windsor Great Park is beautiful but vast so good walking shoes are a must and if you plan on exploring for a while make sure you take a drink with you.
Windsor is a great place to visit for the weekend. It's not too big so everything is accessible. I would recommend the Great Walk in Great Windsor Park as the view of the castle is spectacular. Wear comfortable shoes if you're going to walk it from one end to the other!! A walk over the Thames to Eton is very pleasant too! There are plenty of pubs and restaurants to chose from.
Windsor
We loved our stay at The Rutlands. My husband and I were traveling with my mother-in-law so we booked two rooms and both rooms were lovely. They have modern updates but still retain some old charm. The beds were comfortable and we loved the shower and updated bathroom. I also enjoyed the tea/coffee setup in the room. The location is perfect to walk everywhere in Windsor but it's away from the crowds and noise. The typical English breakfast was delicious and filling, and they were able to make a vegetarian version.
The Hotel is situated in the middle of Eton and just a five minute walk to the Windsor Bridge. Great location for all the pubs and Restaurants, and of course the very famous Castle. The parking at the rear of the Christopher is quite tight to say the least but is ok if you take care etc! No problem with my Grandland! If you like Thai food then Giggling Squid is the place to go, it is right next door to the Theatre. The food is gorgeous!
The location is extremely convenient, it is just next to Windsor Castle and the main street full of life, coffee places, boutique shops and restaurants. The room was very spacious and detailed cleaned by a super committed and friendly housekeeper. I also appeciated very much that it was a quiet hotel and fully preserving the intimicy of the guests! Looking forward to coming back soon.
Apart from world war 3 kicking off in one of the rooms early hours of our first night the hotel itself was nice, staff were fantastic. Bit cold in the bar but radiators were switched as soon as I asked. Food was brilliant. Taxi to Windsor castle about £7, cheaper than the bus. Big car park. Will come again. Would recommend..
Loved everything about this property. The location was ideal for exploring Windsor and Windsor Castle. Everything was perfect from check in, the rooms, the afternoon tea, the dinner, our nights stay, the breakfast and sadly our check out. We would highly recommend The Castle Hotel. A perfect stay. Thank you to all concerned.
Good location for RWHS and the Castle. Rooms comfortable and clean, food very good, staff excellent - couldn’t have been more helpful and pleasant. Car parking availability let’s the hotel down a little. Would definitely stay again.
Room views were amazing Location of the hotel is very convenient, near the center and near the train station. Breakfast was very good and the service excellent, very attentive. Very nice areas where you can sit for working
Short distance to Windsor castle. Under renovation and once complete will be an amazing hotel. Staff were all very accommodating, polite and helpful. The price of the hotel is amazing for the area in which it is situated.
The apartment had an exceptional amount of space. It was very comfortable and right on the High St in walking distance of everything. It is also in walking distance of the rail station so is simple once you get to Windsor.
The location was brilliant - just across the road from the castle with the shops just around the corner. It is easy to walk to the river, Eton and the Long Walk from the hotel.

We stayed in the garden lodge and it was fabulous! Spotlessly clean and very high quality. Perfect location for going in to Windsor - just a 5 minute taxi ride. Excellent.

We had a great stay at Bluebell House. Our room was beautiful, much larger than we were expecting. It’s in a great location, just a short drive from the centre of Windsor.
It was up to date, well kept and clean. With a great variety of food at breakfast and dinner. The hotel is in a great location for Windsor castle and Legoland.
Perfectly adequate hotel just a short, pleasant walk from Windsor Castle. Good breakfast and comfortable room.
Comfortable large house ideal walking distance to Windsor and transit to Legoland.

Being able to park for free on the properly was a big help. I also really liked the large bathroom and the fact that it was only for our use, we didn’t have to share.
Fantastic. We have fussy eater so the options were good to have a mixture to choose from.
