Henley is a historic town by the River Thames and is fabuous for mini holiday with lots of interesting places nearby to visit as well. Henley itself is clean and fresh with a great range of shops and places to eat.

Henley is such a memorable town for us as I was at school there and grew up in the area. So for me it is well worth visiting. We were disappointed with the river as it has (like so many other rivers) been flooded this year so we could not go for our usual walk along the River Thames which is so amazing.

Great place to walk around and see the boats on the river Thames, lovely old pubs and restaurants. Probably would get very overwhelmed when the Henley regatta is on. Car parks could get a little overcrowded.

Fantastic location for the Rewind South 80's festival,...

Fantastic location for the Rewind South 80's festival, didn't get to experience much that the rest of the town had to offer. Seemed to be a general disconnect between the event management who knew how many tickets were sold, and the council/private business in providing services to accommodate that size crowd. For example: (1) event itself was cashless, but riverboat transport to & from only took cash, and no working ATM's in the town. This caused a lot of issues for a lot of people. (2) No temporary lighting along the river path despite knowing the path would be used by hundreds of people each night in the dark. The path is very narrow and not maintained in several places. (3) Disconnect between the advertised times of the boat service in the event literature vs the actual running times, left groups of people stranded last thing at night, then having to walk back along that very dark path

Beautiful town, with lovely small shops and very good restaurants. My daughter just moved here so we are delighted. It feels very safe and it is very clean. The Regatta was on so we enjoyed one day there and currently there is a music festival on. SO its rather busy right now.

A lovely little town to walk around especially along the river. You don’t need more than half a day unless you want to explore places outside the center. It has good boutique shops but no high street cheap fashion brands as it’s quite an upmarket little town. But it does have Boots, W H Smiths and Starbucks and a lot of good choices for eating. Have breakfast at Bijans, take a long walk along the river, lunch at The Bull, walk around the town and the dinner at The Giggling Squid.

We visited here with our 3year old grand daughter as we were visiting Legoland. Its not really a place for young children but we were never made to feel this way that is just us overthinking as my grand daughter is quite loud and always asking questions at the wrong time. Breakfast was beautiful. Rooms were clean, modern and very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel. Its near the centre of Henley-on-Thames so plenty of places to eat or there is a waitrose 5 minutes away. Only 30minutes away from Legoland

The room is a little dated but as we were only staying for 1 night it done the job. The food was very good and delivered in a timely manner. All the staff were extremely friendly from the Hotel staff to Bar staff and waitresses. I forgot to pick up a receipt for our dinner and Dorothy from the hotel reception went above and beyond to get one sent over to me by email. Exceptionally good prices and worth every penny. We will be booking again and hopefully staying for the weekend. Well done The Catherine Wheel.

Five star spotless accommodation with washing and kitchen facilities on site. Extremely comfortable King sized bed. Breakfast was very extensive and of excellent quality - even treated to eggs from the Handywater chickens! Owners very friendly and attentive and we were treated to a glass of prosecco in the garden which was a very welcoming touch. Quiet area close by to Henley on Thames with some very pleasant walking nearby. We wouldn't hesitate to return if we were visiting the area again.

The stag&huntsman is located in a “chocolate box” village close to Henley on Thames used as a location in many films and in midsomer murders. It has a lovely post office and store with local produce. The Stag is wonderful with rustic spacious rooms many with baths, great food and the loveliest helpful staff. It is also pet friendly and in my opinion one of the best in the area The vegan Thai Red Curry is my personal favourite. Can’t recommend this place highly enough

Very comfortable stay, perfect location in town and nice views over the rooftops especially from the bath! The bed was very comfortable, crockery and appliances all in good order, felt like we were the first ones to stay as it was all so immaculate. How to check in instructions sent in advance and we're very clear along with a detailed manual for the property.

The hotel is in a beautiful location, very peaceful and quiet. You can just relax in the hotel grounds all day. My room was very good size and very clean. The staff were nice and polite. The hotel is easily accessible by bus (not by foot though). There are also nice lounge areas to sit, read a book, have a drink.

Period Henley is a tastefully decorated, well appointed property in the centre of the beautiful market town of Henley on Thames. The car space makes exploring the greater area easy and when you are done everything in the town is an easy walk. Sian is a great host who communicates all information well.
