Prime location well maintained and clean comfortable bed got a voucher to redeem for a drink. lots of options to eat out, shopping and sight seeing. Rooms are good and comfortable, but noisy as it is near to the main road. The windows are closed but it may concern some. Not many rooms available with bath tub, if one is looking for a bath tub. may need to enquire and reserve.
As I wasn’t visiting Reading for pleasure this time I didn’t get to see much. But on my previous visits I think of Reading as being a great place to visit. Whether it’s history, shops restaurants, parks or a walk by the river you are looking for, it’s got it all. The restaurant and cafes around the Oracle of an evening have quite a magical feel about them and so much choice. The place has a lovely relaxed feel about it. The bus services are excellent and I found the drivers really helpful with information to strangers to Reading.
Great for shopping ,especially the Oracle if cold and wet.We ate at Wild Lime which was very good for the price.Great stay at Malmaisson very clean comfy and all staff very friendly and efficient ,we will e back
The hotel is a beautiful old building, rooms have high ceilings and deep full sized baths. Each room has a microwave, kettle and fridge, which is ideal to prepare your own food. Breakfast is buffet style apart from the cooked breakfast which they cook freshly for you. There is a large old church just across the road and it is only a short walk into town. The shopping in Reading is excellent with all the shops you could wish for. In Caversham the river makes a lovely walk with swans, geese and ducks all along the riverside. They run a boat trip which is highly recommended also. For entertainment there is Reading festival in August where the whole town comes to life. Highly recommend Reading 😊
This is a lovely hotel in an old building with high ceilings and big bay windows. The staff here are always friendly and welcoming, I stay here often for leisure purposes. The rooms are big enough and clean, the bathroom has all that you need. Having a fridge and a microwave is a great extra, one that most other hotels do not have. Breakfast is great, order your food and then they cook it instead of buffet style which most hotels adopt. Highly recommend staying here
There are some great canal walks with nice parks close by around Reading, the University grounds are nice too and there are some interesting museums and historical buildings and ruins. Shopping is pretty good and the train station is very central to town. One thing which is not so good is that there are a few beggars around and one or two of them can be a little bit bellicose, some of the neighbourhoods on the west side look a little bit rough too, and the garbage collection system isn't the best....people are made to pile up bags full of garbage around skip bins and it looks quite unsightly in some places. Overall though still a nice town.
Reading
Super clean and well equipped flat close to the town centre. Much more spacious than I expected and had a lovely little private patio. Stayed two nights and were very comfortable. Highly recommended. about 10 minutes walk from Reading train station. Full oven, microwave and dishwasher to easily cook at home and about a 7 minute walk to a Tesco. Flat included iron and board, tea & coffee and milk plus plenty of shower gels and shampoos for our stay.
Great location as it was close to a wedding venue we were attending. Given a key to let ourselves in after the reception had closed 11am checkout time Plenty of parking Not directly related to the hotel room but the breakfast menu is good for hotel residents
Celebrating my son's 9th Birthday in your faultless hotel was an absolutely joy. From your very friendly reception staff to our awesome deluxe family room this was a great break at a very compelling price point. We will return!
Very good for an overnight stay in Reading. The room was spacious, staff were courteous, breakfast was good, and the room was reasonably priced. The hotel was a pleasant 25 minute walk from the train station. Very good overall.
Staff were really friendly and helpful, Hotel was on a bus route so you could get a bus into Reading centre easy enough and there was a beefeater pub just across the road from Hotel
the location is the best - 2 mins walk to ALDI - 5 mins walk to Reading station - 2 mins walk to town center - 5 mins walk to the park - 1 min walk to the Thames river
Very clean and comfortable bed. Although I was in the centre of Reading, it was incredible quite! Amazing value for money. I would certainly use this hotel again.
I like the fact that the hotel was not far from the reading train station. I liked the spa. I like the service given by Carole at the bar and Sarah at the spa.
The apartment was very clean with clean bedding and towels. It was also well equipped and in a quiet area but relatively near to Reading town centre.
The location was great. In Reading City Center, a few steps away from Reading central station and a few steps away from the Oracle.
individualism of the rooms, great size, wonderful amenities and felt tranquil and away from the centre of Reading
The location of the hotel is amazing and the cost of the stating very good.
Good budget hotel.
