Holiday Inn Reading West, an IHG Hotel, Beech House Hotel and Bull Inn have received great reviews from travellers in Reading regarding the views from their hotel rooms.
Reading is good if you stay in a top class hotel, like the Roseate Reading, otherwise it is mediocre. The shopping is predictable, apart from the smaller shops and the new? Big Charity shop in the Oracle. The Revolution de Cuba is noisy but pleasant with good food and good Zombie cocktails.
My home town ! Many well-preserved interesting and attractive buildings in great variety of dates, styles and purposes. Pedestrianised Broad Street feels good. Pity that the price is the inner ring-road - a horrible noisy race-track.
Reading is suitable for visiting Lego land and Windsor castle. Local shops were approximately a 15 minutes drive away. There is also a local Costco nearby. We were there with the kids so our days were spent doing child friendly stuff and entertainment. We also ate at our hotel so we didn’t venture out much for food. Although there was a kfc, Itsu and Mc Donald’s a few minutes drive away from our hotel. The kids enjoyed it and yes we will visit again.
We were in Reading for a wedding near Pangbourne, but we met up with the brides parents in a restaurant outside the Oracle. The car park was very busy and getting out of the car park was a bit of a challenge to ensure we went the right way.
Prime location well maintained and clean comfortable bed got a voucher to redeem for a drink. lots of options to eat out, shopping and sight seeing. Rooms are good and comfortable, but noisy as it is near to the main road. The windows are closed but it may concern some. Not many rooms available with bath tub, if one is looking for a bath tub. may need to enquire and reserve.
As I wasn’t visiting Reading for pleasure this time I didn’t get to see much. But on my previous visits I think of Reading as being a great place to visit. Whether it’s history, shops restaurants, parks or a walk by the river you are looking for, it’s got it all. The restaurant and cafes around the Oracle of an evening have quite a magical feel about them and so much choice. The place has a lovely relaxed feel about it. The bus services are excellent and I found the drivers really helpful with information to strangers to Reading.
Cosy apartment with excellent location at the heart of Reading town centre. Comfortable space with sofas, hangers at convenient positions, and a large wardrobe in the bedroom. The kitchen is fully equipped with a washing machine and dishwasher included. The staff provided us with some goodies and special great discounts to restaurants nearby, as well as with a guide with clear and detailed instructions to appliances and places around one could visit and enjoy.
Mariana is a super helpful host, patiently responding to questions and recommending shops and restaurants. There are many attractions close to the property and the property is very homely and comfortable to come back to after a long day. Very clean and tidy. I'll definitely be back here anytime I'm in Reading. Highly recommended
Stayed here overnight in reading for one evening the room was super cheap in the grand scheme of hotels at only £39, the staff were polite, the room was clean and actually very quite, overall I would recommend if staying for a short stay, long term I cannot account for as didn’t use the bar or food facilities etc. 10/10 for our stay
The Hotel is very good. Room was super cosy and clean. It's very quiet in the hotel and you feel like you have a lot of privacy. Location is exeptional for both the proximity to city centre and the train station. I recommend this place to everyone looking to spend their time in Reading 😊
I love the location it’s a short walk to the Reading train station as well as the town centre. The facilities and rooms were exceptional and suggest that anyone looking for a cheap place to stay should definitely check this place out.
We loved the uniqueness of the hotel and not being part of a chain. Friendliness, helpfulness and warmth of the owner was appreciated. Lovely breakfast too. Having parking available in a hotel so near the town centre was a bonus.
I like the fact that this hotel location. It is a central location near many other shops in Reading near Supermarkets and shopping centre. All of them is in a walking distance and you can get what you want easily.
This hotel is good value for money and the staff were friendly. It is also within 30 mins walking distance of Reading town centre (and railway station) and about 20 minutes walk from the University of Reading.
New decor is lovely and exceeded 3 star expectations. Hotel felt safe and well located for what we needed. I was putting a relative up here and she enjoyed the experience with only one minor comment.
The room was a very normal, but very average, cookie cutter hotel room. The breakfast was ok for a buffet. They never ran out of anything, but the scrambled eggs were cold all 3 meals we had.
Reading
It was in the center of reading so we could access all reading city center has to offer. It was a very well appointed apartment for the price of a small hotel room so what’s not to love.
I like the fact that the hotel was not far from the reading train station. I liked the spa. I like the service given by Carole at the bar and Sarah at the spa.
Location is just 2 minutes walk from Reading Railway Station, and within Reading City Centre. Close to Reading Station means easy access to Paddington.
Liked everything about the hotel. Great location, facilities, large bathroom, delicious tea bags :) ,
