Elena and Nikos were very gracious hosts and available whenever there was a need or concern. Upon my arrival they were there to greet me and Elena had even baked me a delicious cake and put fresh fruit out for me. I was the first guest of the year (visiting in April) and, as such, there were a few minor issues with the readiness of the apartments. However, the hosts were very quick to take care of anything I brought to their attention. I found the apartment to be charming and the decor lovely. Also, anything I needed (supermarket, restaurants, etc.) was within walking distance.

Location is great but we only stayed one night so did not use any facilities or activities. We were upgraded to a larger sea view room with balcony for no charge which was a bonus! The bar shut very promptly at 11.00 which cut off most people who had arrived from uk and were still in a q to check in, and not too pleased about it.

We were welcomed like family -- with raki and fresh watermelon, in the traditional Cretan way -- and felt like family the entire time. The homestay is also animal-friendly and our host had the cutest two dogs and one magical kitty. The location itself is excellent -- staggering views across Souda Bay and relatively close to many other beaches, sites, and local restaurants (though you will need a car, of course). Honestly one of the best places we've stayed in.

I like the fact that is is not large and has a nice, laid back atmosphere. There are plenty of good tavernas & restaurants to try with excellent food at very reasonable prices. Our particular favourite was Thalami but there is a good selection and we didn't have time to try many others . There are also beautiful beach bars for drinks and snacks where you can sit and watch the world go by. Not a place to go if you are looking niteclubs.

Almirida is a nice little place on the beach 15km east of Chania and 35 min drive from Chania airport. There are a dozen or so restaurants, almost all by the beach. No big hotels or loud nightclubs which suits a quietish and relaxing stay. Loads of activities and trips accessible for those who want to do more than sit by a pool or on the beach.

A very nice village (maybe a dozen restaurant, about as many shops, some ice cream places, a playground and some nice sandy and relatively flat beaches). Everything in walking distance.. Every two hours connection with modern bus to Chania and nearby Kalives. Sadly no real sidewalk, but very slow traffic.

Almirida is a wonderful place to stay for families or...
Almirida is a wonderful place to stay for families or couples wanting a quieter resort. It is very picturesque with stunning views across the bay from the surrounding hills. We had delicious food at every restaurant we visited and the people were incredibly friendly and welcoming! We have fallen in love with this place and everything Crete has to offer! A truly special place on earth! We will be back!

Nice place with many tavernas and few shops and a pleasant atmosphere. In time of our visit (July 2023) the beach was not crowded what was fine. The grocery shop in the village was quite expensive. Some bakeries with a fine coffee. The sandy beach was not very big. The perfect place to discover the surrounding (Aptera, Chania, Apokoroni, Kournas lake, etc.)
Very clean apartment, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom, very comfortable large bed, quiet and efficient air conditioning in each room, free parking space next to the apartment (both on the street and on the property), very nice and helpful owners (if the wifi broke down, they responded immediately and helped effectively), a quiet area and the town of Almyrida itself, close to grocery stores and taverns, close to the sea with a beach with pebbles, the sea visible and audible from the terrace. A nice welcome treat in the fridge.
I liked Almyrida town a lot! more for locals than touristic, so not filled with shops full of Chinese products. only think I was missing is some weak side for long walks in evening, but it’s still worth it. literally every taverna was a blast, amazing entrance to sea from a nearby beach, lovely view, good breakfasts. our air conditioning was leaking and it was fixed immediately. also it’s located just over the bed so blowing on you all time, at least in our room.
Fabulous facilities for us (four adults, including two children) - absolutely everything was covered. We really appreciated the extensive welcome pack and the welcome in person. The location was great: only a short walk to Almyrida’s restaurants, beach, supermarkets, etc., but having its own large and very private garden areas. The pool and outdoor facilities were excellent and quietly and efficiently maintained during our stay.
The place was fantastic. The view is amazing and it is very relaxing, due to the fact that Almyrida is a small village that has still everything you might need. Artemis is a wonderful host who helped us a lot and welcomed us wonderfully. If you want to stay in this part of Crete i highly recommend to stay at villa Dina . You will have a relaxing vacation and can still reach the places you programmed, like balos, falasarna ecc.
Our stay in Almyrida Sands was absolutely perfect! The apartament was very clean, comfortable and lovely so we feel like at home.
The hosts was helpfull, hospitable and very friendly.
The proximity to the sea and the beach was a big advantage of that place.
Nice surprised for us was the gift in the form of homemade jam.
We wholeheartedly recommend it this place. I hope I will back there soon.

Amazing location, just above the beach, great snorkeling amongst the rocks. Lots of excellent tavernas and restaurants, Almyrida is small, but we didn't feel we had to go anywhere else all week! We will be back!
Lovely spacious villa only 5 minute walk from the beautiful sandy Almyrida beach. Amazing see and mountain views. Generous welcome treats and essentials like bread, milk, fruit, water, snacks and wine. Thoroughly recommended for adults or families with older children (as quite a steep hill and stone steps). Responsive owner.
The villa is excellently situated just a 6 minute walk from the restaurants, bars and beach at Almyrida. The pool and multiple seating areas are all very private. The accommodation itself suited our party of two couples perfectly with the separate ground floor rooms. Thoroughly recommended.

Restaurants in Almyrida were good with within easy walking distance and offered a good choice of food.
There was also a small convince store where we bought coffee's daily within 2 minutes walk from the villa.
Just in front of the beach - no view at the sea! Very clean! Very well insulated! Very well equipped! Excellent communication! Very nice yard just outside the apartment! Welcome wine, water, biscuits, coffee......!! Definitely my choice at Almyrida next time!
