Very cheerful personnel. I had technical issues with my bike, so I arrived very late (at 23:00), they were waiting for me and offered me snacks and a beer. Free of Charge. What can I say, positive energy and care for the client was overwhelming.

Alexandra, who's family has been running the hotel for generations, is the perfect host. She was able to give good advice on activities and restaurants and is also a very pleasant person. The hotel itself is both very stylish and comfortable. Its obvious that a lot of effort has gone into every detail. The surroundings are beautiful, with great views all around. The breakfast is delicous with local treats. A sauna is present for use after a long hike, which is great. I highly recommend staying a number of nights at Zum Riesen.
I have been traveling through France and Italy for several weeks and staying at this little hotel was actually one of the highlights, so I could not recommend it more. Genuinly nice, friendly and supportive owners and staff. Delicious pizza and a delightful breakfast, which was included.
