This is the first time we are visiting Srilanka and this was the first hotel we booked for accomodation in this trip.To our surprise the hotel was really fantastic with swimming pool,dining area,situated in the accessible location and surrounding.We were given excellent hospitality by the hotel staffs.They were friendly and helped us by arranging tuk tuk.They provided us tasty breakfast and I highly recommend this hotel 👍👍👍

Located in middle of paddy field, everywhere is green color. Room was absolutely perfect & good value for the money. Hotel owner helped us go to see the ancient places, its just 10min away. hotel organized a wild safari & cycling tour for us prices are very reasonable, Owner is always available to help us. they prepared rice & curry for us, they took lot of vegetables & Fruits from they own garden. they have papaya, Lime, Banana, Mango & and many more fruits so they give us fresh fruit juices from their garden, everything is organic. thank you very much! we will come again.

Ruins is one of the best experiences I have ever had. The staff is very nice. The food, the rooms are amazing. I invite all local and foreign people to come here and have fun. Located outside the city, it is a quiet and pleasant place to stay. In all respects, Ruins is a beautiful hotel located in Polonnaruwa. I am thankful to all the employees including the management for helping to make my holiday beautiful.

The site seeing of historical places were the best.
The site seeing of historical places were the best. Most of the time we ate at the hotel and visited some locals and shared a meal with them. We hired a vehicle during the tour, This gave us the flexibility to get around. Net time I'll try to get there in the cooler months, mid December.

Lot of ancient locations and relics.
Lot of ancient locations and relics. Can gain much information about historical Polonnaruwa era of Sri Lanka. Spread is in close vicinity and can cover all areas even without a travel guide. My favourite places were Parakrama Samudraya, museum, King Parakramabahu's castle and office, Gal Viharaya, Thiwanka Pilima geya, Vatadage, Hetadage and Sathmahal Prasadaya.
There are places to eat in Polonnaruwa new town (Very close by). We dined at NS Tomatoes where the service was good.

It's worth making the effort to see the far northern and far...
It's worth making the effort to see the far northern and far southern area too.... and don't forget to check out the back roads in the quadrangle group. The site is full of tourists, but almost nobody at the above mentioned places.

Polonnaruwa has impressive archeological and historic areas...
Polonnaruwa has impressive archeological and historic areas which are in good conditions despite of the years. The Minneriya National Park, the Dambulla cave temple and the Sigiriya Rock are also near and it makes Polonnaruwa a perfect base to visit all of them. We would strongly recommend to others.

We stayed about 14km outside polonnaruwa on lake giritale.
We stayed about 14km outside polonnaruwa on lake giritale. We got a tuk tuk into town (1500 rupees) and hired bikes for the day (1000 rupees each). We found a cycle route online and followed that, which took us to all the main sites. It was hot but we had a great time. Stop for a drink at the EKO hotel on the lake- a great spot!
We had a very nice stay here. We appreciate the helpfulness of the hosts who arranged bikes for us and found three for our children. They gave good advice about visiting Polonnaruwa and were friendly and helpful. They helped us arrange transportation to our next stop. The rooms were comfortable and clean and we had everything we needed. Having AC and a fan was nice. We enjoyed the breakfast and ordered dinner one night which was very tasty. There were lots of plants and ponds on the property which made a beautiful setting.
I am very happy that I booked a room at Man Guest Polonnaruwa. The hosts made one day a fabulous adventure for us.
Everything was perfect. The place is clean and quiet with hot water and warm hospitality. The host provided a safari jeep to visit the ancient city at a very reasonable price, dinner and breakfast were very delicious. The host even took us up to Kandy on the road with such a breathtaking views that I couldn't even imagine.

Our room was extremely clean and that seems to be rare in Sri Lanka. There was no humidity marks at all in our room. The outside pool area is just so beautiful. The pool is super clean, went for a great swim. The property is surrounded by rice fields and has plenty of wildlife.The rooms are a little out dated but thats ok since everything else is great and clean. Plenty of workers trimming plants and cleaning property. Breakfast buffet also was great. Definitely recommend if you are in the area.
Hotel located outside of the city center but with a very nice view on the lake and a swimming pool. Stayed 2 days. One day to relax at the pool and one day to visit Polonnaruwa. Hotel brought us in contact with a local tour guide and with him we did a bicycle tour in the old city which was excellent. The guide knows everything about the old city and about buddhism. So if you are staying at this hotel check with the Chef of the kitchen for this tour guide as they are friends.
Our stay at Seyara was short with only a one night stay, but this hotel meet our needs and is priced appropriately. Staff were welcoming from the time we arrived and ensured our needs were met. We stayed in a family room, and the room was spacious whilst basic was clean and comfortable.
Our room rate included breakfast and dinner, and my word, the dinner so far would have to be the best Sri Lankan meal we have had on our trip - thank you!
The owner was very polite and friendly. He helped us in finding the bus from Trincomalee to Polonnaruwa and also arranged a tuktuk with a reasonable price from bus station to property and also for visiting attractions.
We ordered launch which was very delicious and in a good price. He prepared food for two person but charged only for one.

Our stay here was lovely - what a beautiful location! The staff were incredible and so friendly, Sampath was so amazing as were all the other staff whose names we didn't write down! The rooms are lovely, as is the pool and outside areas. We rented bikes from the hotel and one of us had a really lovely massage. The buffet dinner is also great, with a fab selection!
Excellent place which is in the heart of kaduruwela city center . Also very close to polonnaruwa railway station and every need such as restaurants ,banking , supermarkets etc are in walking distance .The host is super supportive and best caring person i have ever met..

Family owned hotel and they are really nice to their guests and flexible too..we had a really good time in the pool it was way more than enough for us to relax. Finally got a big value for our money.
