If you love swiming, it is good place to go as there are several beaches. But if you expect more for the holidays, it is kind of boring here. For me, I had expect the value of money. But feel a little disappointed here for the charge. Taxi driver always want to scam for more money. 1.5km from beach to apartment, they want to charge 15 euro and market price is only 5. For a small bottle of coke, 250ml, they charge 3.4 euro, after another 21%vat, it is 4 euro you need to pay. It is even worse at the restarunt of Tivat airport, they charge 7 Euro for 250ml glass bottle coke. What a journey!
What a journey! We took the FlixBus from Dubrovnik, little knowing that this trip would be very long! The first hurdle was the border (this took time), but by far the worst was the road between Kotor and Budva. It is under construction - so this added about 40 min to our drive time. Generally, I think it might be a cultural thing. People are very blunt and somewhat abrasive. The level of hospitality needs a real improvement. There are a few gems, we had a really good experience at MB Ice Club - friendlier staff and service in Budva. The best coffee was at Noi Bakkery and Coffee - they supposedly open at 07:00 but rather open at 07:30. The coffee is great and worth the wait! Friendly staffGuest review byAdamSouth Africa - 8.0

I've been coming to Budva every few years since 1999. It's a quick flight from other European cities (35 minutes from Belgrade!) and has the unbeatable combination of mountains and beaches, old and new. Budva has beautiful mountains and sea, but the people are quite frankly the worst people I have ever met in my life. Nearly everyone is incredibly miserable and rude. There are tons of scams, people will constantly be blackmailing you for money. I was screamed and shouted at and threatened if I didn't give scammers their demands. This happened every day over something or another. For anyone thinking I am am misunderstanding the culture, perhaps, but I am married to an eastern European. This was something else and even my wife couldn't stand the people. So understand this is a very underdeveloped place in many ways, I highly suggest people visit other more well known Mediterranean destinations, even if just for personal safety.Guest review byNicholasUnited Kingdom
