Top notch beaches, unfortunately the town and surroundings need some sprucing up. I think the economy has hit Puerto Rico hard in general, but to do most things on this island is expensive, because they know you have no choice but to PAY. It cost the locals way too much to have anything brought over from the main island, as everything is ferried in and out, the government controls the movement of all goods.
Anyway, good places to eat, Zaco's Taco's is our number one choice for great food at a reasonable price. There are a couple of food trucks that are good as well. Most other places had mediocre food at top end price. Also, if you are looking to eat some great seafood, it's not here. Who would think that you couldn't get SEAFOOD on a tropical island.
Great snorkeling, Zoni Beach is the best for snorkeling, large numbers of fish, sea turtles, rays, etc. The beaches are great, we hung out at Zoni the most, but Flamenco is a great beach as well, just more people.
Scuba Diving, not the greatest, there are somethings to see, but I will not drag my dive gear to this island again. But do pack your mask, snorkel and fins!
Getting around, you will need to rent a cart or a Jeep. Either way here is where they have you over a barrel. They do provide a good service, and there is 3 places to choose from, but they know you have no other options.
Groceries, there is 3 stores, very little produce in all three. Get your Beer at Milka's south of the bridge. Again, this is a small island with big prices, so don't be surprised by the amount, just enjoy the beaches. The beach can make everything BETTER!
