We had a great week photographing birds, beaches, lighthouses, and landscapes. We visited Provincetown to Falmouth and towns in between. We even ventured out to Rhode Is. and Connecticut from our centrally located rental home. Although we were there in the slow season, we were able to find some wonderful restaurants serving delicious food! We were fortunate enough to see many Ospreys that had recently returned to the area to breed. We were amazed at how pristine everyone’s property was and how well maintained their homes were!

Barnstable is on the bay side of the Cape and is almost midway down the Cape so perfect for day trips to the rest of the Cape or Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. There is also a whale watch trip right at Millway harbor nearby. Lots of good shopping and restaurants nearby.
This was our first time staying in a home vs. a hotel and my family and I loved it. The house was clean, fully equipped with kitchenware for cooking if you choose. I love that I was able to wash our beach towels in the washer as well. The rooms were spacious and comfortable as well as the living area. The house is located close to Main Street and on a quiet street and the yard is impeccable. It really was a home away from home and we look forward returning next year.
The husband and wife team who own and run the place are amazing. They were in the hospitality/hotel industry for years before they opened their own place…and it shows. Everything was well thought out and the breakfast was such a delicious, two course surprise any foodie would love. I can’t wait to stay here again!
What a great stay! This is in a wonderful location! Property is beautiful, Bill and Tami are great hosts and you just simply could not ask for more! Sad to leave but so excited to come back. Lavender Bay is the best kept secret on Cape Cod! Thanks Bill and Tami!!
