Located in Uvita, 8.1 miles from Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary, Ballena Rey Hotel has accommodations with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a shared lounge. Exceptionally good value-for-money. Small (about 14 rooms), modern, hotel in a good location for visiting various places e.g. Catarata Uvita, Nauyaca Waterfalls, Parque Nacional Marino Ballena, Hacienda Baru Wildlife Refuge. Many evening dining out options in the local vicinity, although the hotel owner told us there are plans to offer an evening meal option at Ballena Rey very soon. We had room 12: good balcony space, with 2 armchairs, small table top and 2 stalls, cacti at each end of the balcony, ceiling fan; the open plan kitchen and living room area was spacious, with air-conditioning and ceiling fan, 2 armchairs, TV, table and 2 chairs and sufficiently equipped kitchen (though 2 rings for cooking would be preferable to the one ring provided) and good-sized fridge/freezer; spacious shower room with hot water (some of the places we stayed at during our 31 night trip didn't have hot water); bedroom - reasonably comfortable bed, hanging and shelf storage space, air-conditioning and ceiling fan, one bedside table. Very good buffet breakfast - the breakfast ladies did a great job and it was lovely to be able to choose what you wanted, how much you wanted, in what order etc. Very good cleaning service provided in the room and in the hotel grounds. Lovely pool, which we made good use of. And the staff were all very friendly! We really enjoyed our stay at Ballena Rey and were sorry to leave.

Located in La Fortuna town, San Bosco Inn offers an outdoor pool and lush gardens, free Wi-Fi in public areas and rooms with garden views. The Arenal Volcano is 3.1 mi away. The pool was very nice. Breakfast delicious and we got a day pass for the volcano lodge, which was a bonus! Really worth it. Location is great also! Walking distance from town and all restaurants!

This tropical hotel is located next to Costa Rica's Arenal Volcano, 3.7 mi from La Fortuna. It offers a natural hot spring, outdoor adventure activities, a luxurious spa and scenic volcano views. Landscaping was excellent, pools are nicely done and breakfast was very good.

Offering direct access to the beach, Lanna Ban Hotel is located in Puerto Viejo. The hotel features an exotic garden and contemporary Thai architecture. Free WiFi access is available. Hotel was cute. Staff was friendly.

Discover the charm of Hotel Secreto La Fortuna, a quiet retreat in the heart of Fortuna, Costa Rica. Our stay here was even better than expected! The entire experience exceeded our hopes, starting with the excellent food, the location, the outside area . the garden is full of hummingbirds 😊 What truly stood out was the cleanliness of the place. The rooms were spotless and well-maintained throughout our stay. A big thank you to the ladies who cleaned the rooms — they were kind, efficient, and always had a smile on their faces. Their attention to detail did not go unnoticed. A special mention must go to Fabricio at reception, who was without a doubt the best receptionist we've ever met. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care of, helping with everything from local tips to making sure our needs were met. His professionalism and friendliness truly made a difference. We would gladly return and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great stay!

Centrally located in Puerto Viejo de Talamanca town center and just a 3-minute walk from Salsa Brava Beach, Hotel Indalo adults only features an extensive garden, sun terrace and free Wi-Fi. Nice spacious room with big bathroom, comfortable bed and good working airconditioning. Cute clean swimmingpool. Really good location in town but quiet. There is no breakfast but they offer free coffee/tea and cookies in the morning and clean drinkable water all day.

Featuring an extensive garden, a sun terrace with swimming pool, spa treatments and free Wi-Fi throughout, this hotel is 10 minutes’ drive from the Arenal Volcano National Park and from La Fortuna... Excellent service, property, facilities, food, and experience overall. Everyone made sure we felt welcome every step of the way and were even able to accommodate our dietary restrictions. I’d stay again in a heartbeat. The pictures don’t do it justice (the rooms are actually nicer than depicted on some of the photos!). They made our stay extra special by bringing treats to celebrate my mom’s birthday and Mother’s Day. We so much appreciate all the kindness and these sweet little gestures.

Located on the banks of River Baru, Hotel Villas Río Mar is also within a walking distance of 2953 feet from the Village of Dominical. It was set in a gorgeous setting. The restaurant was great and the staff was well trained and friendly .

Located in Fortuna, 2.9 miles from La Fortuna Waterfall, Cabañas del Rio has accommodations with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking and a garden. We had such a nice stay here which far exceeded our expectations (it was our first location in Costa Rica). The garden was so rich with animals: day and night frogs, so many different birds which we didn’t see even in National Parks, howler monkeys, squirrels, etc. We could just sit and be on the lookout for animals for hours without getting bored! The house was much bigger than it seems on the pictures, with 3 extra large double beds, a very well equipped kitchen, lots of space to store clothing and a nice terras in front that is safe from rain. Also the swimming pool that is close to the garden was so nice. Usually quiet as well, with one spot giving a good view on the top of the Volcano Arenal, especially beautiful at sunset. Breakfast was excellent as well. Last but not least Leonardo and everyone working there was so kind and welcoming. We couldn’t have wished for anything more and highly recommend the place to anyone with a passion for wildlife and nature as well as families with children who want to escape the busy and very touristic center of La Fortuna, but still be close enough to enjoy all its benefits.
