Opened in June 2018, Hotel 1001 Nott offers modern accommodations 3.1 mi from Egilsstadir. The hotel features outdoor hot tubs overlooking Lake Lagarfljót. There is also an on-site bar. The property was so nice. A great location! I wish we could’ve stayed 2 days there. I think there are lots of interesting hikes thru forests. We only had time to see a nearby waterfall. We saw northern light from the outdoor hot tubs.

Fosshotel Mývatn is located next to Lake Mývatn, 4.2 mi to the Mývatn Nature Baths. The hotels provides free WiFi and free private parking. Very comfortable rooms with kettle and fridge (ask for fresh milk from bar for tea). Lovely sauna. Amazing views. Very friendly staff. Dinner was excellent.

Set 17 mi from Hella and 7.5 mi from Laugaland, Landhotel features a garden, bar and free WiFi. Featuring a 24-hour front desk, this property also provides guests with a restaurant. The staff was really kind and helpful. The receptionist who was there upon our arrival, shows us on the map what we can do because the weather conditions wasn’t good for the things that we have planed to do. The food in the restaurant was good and also the breakfast has many options to choose. The bed was comfortable and we have a huge window right across in order to see the sky. Till now it was the best hotel in Iceland!
