I think, there is a big problem with hotels and apartments in Italy. But I was really surprised with this hotel. I expected much worse considering I am in Liguria :)

The location is fantastic. The train station is a 10 minute walk away and is a central line. The town is so nice and full of history. The beach is a 10-15 walk with a fantastic selection of restaurants, there is also lots of retail shopping.

Chiavari itself is not a tourist destination, but it is a very friendly city . It has plenty options for shopping and dining. The location is a perfect intermediate point if you are visiting Cinqueterre for one side, and Santa Margherita and Portofino on the other site. Transportation by train to those places is easy and no expensive. Personnel at the train ticket office speaks fluent English and are very helpful when planning you route.

We stayed in Chiavari cause we didn’t find another appropriate accommodation in Cinque Terre, but I’m so glad it happened this way, because Chiavari is one beautiful small town (but not too small), charming and interesting. In my opinion it is more interesting than Cinque Terre. There are a lot of restaurants, bakeries, different shops, beautiful streets, typical italien architecture, sea side and so on. We stayed for two days there, but I will come again for sure, at least for four days or more. It is close to Portofino and Cinque Terre (in a between), has better parking options, there is also a train station and trains go very often to different destinations. Chiavari is a pretty little place right on the beach.
Chiavari is a pretty little place right on the beach. The town centre is porticoes with lots of nice little restaurants. It gets very crowded and expensive in summer, but off season its a lovely place to visit.
The cemetery up the hill is lovely and the centre of town has a nice antiques market one sunday a month. There is a bit of art deco architecture.

Chiavari is a perfect choice if you want to visit around Cinque Terre and Portofino. The prices are great compared to other cities and is very easy to get from Chiavari to visit them by train. We managed to visit everything we had on the list: Cinque Terre, Portofino, San Frutuosso, Genoa, S. Margherita etc. The beach in Chiavari is not that great if you are looking for stunning blue water, but it was easy to travel to other beaches, such as Monterosso.

We have been to Chiavari many times because it combines so many things we enjoy. The sea of course, but also a wonderful evening passagiata, as well as absolutely divine restaurants. The town is compact, with good shopping, ample (paid) parking and delightful piazzas.
The hosts are very friendly and kind. From the location was easy to reach the city center on foot. I really appreciated the private parking. Good place to reach out nice beaches nearby by car. Chiavari railway station is reachable in 15-20 min on foot. Supermarket is few steps aside. The flat has very good space for family. Terrace is enjoyable in the morning for breakfast. No noise at all and all quiet around allows you to sleep well. Great starting point to visit Liguria region, one of best amazing Region in Italy.
Paulo is a charming, helpful and wonderful host, (and he speaks English fluently). He went out of his way to help us navigate the city and gave us a map and recommended restaurants. He served us a fantastic breakfast every day. Paulo even helped us purchase our train tickets. Nothing is too much trouble for him. The property has been completely renovated and everything is clean and new.
This was our favorite stay on our two weeks in Italy.
Chiavari is so beautiful and I recommend this B&B!
The historical paintings of angels on the ceilings were truly impressive and added a unique touch to the atmosphere. Additionally, the staff was exceptional - they were always friendly and helpful. The only downside was the lack of a lift to the 3rd floor, which made it difficult to carry our luggage. However, given that it is a historical building, this is understandable. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a unique and enjoyable stay.
We like to location of the hotel, it is close to Portofino town - place we wanted to see end explore. Also the price was reasonable. Staff very kind and helpfull, especially in the restaurant during the breakfest. Our room was big and spacious with balcony, so you can easily move around with all your suitcases and things. We like that. The bed was comfortable.
This is one of the loveliest places we stayed on our two month trip. The room was beautiful and the bathroom! Bigger than some hotel rooms we’ve been to. Staff was gracious and helpful. Additionally, there was a notebook with suggested itineraries and restaurant recommendations. Location is perfect—very close to both passagiata and to the sea
Breakfast was great! Monica was very hospitable and helpful giving us great suggestions for restaurants etc. The B&B is near the train station but you don't hear the train. It's also close to the beach area as well as the main shopping center. There isn't a view for the balcony so we didn't really use it.
Our best B&B experience ever!
Relaxed, comfortable, very nice rooms and bed, excellent breakfast and very close to the city centre of Chiavari but nevertheless in a very quiet area of the city.
Eugenia is the perfect host who keeps her family history alive in this superb B&B.
The apartment is located on one of the many narrow streets of Chiavari, which is not particularly easy to get around in. Fortunately our stay was not to visit the beach (we did walk there, and it is a bit of a jaunt). It is a pleasant apartment, roomy, has a washing machine.
We had a great time in Chiavari, it’s a cute little town with not too many tourists. Francesca is an amazing host! she greeted us with foccacia, and even gave us some ligurian bisuits when we left. The room is very spacious and pretty. We would definitely come again!
This was close to our favourite place all trip. Chiavari is a gem, we wish we stayed longer. The pool is fantastic, the rooms were new and nice and spacious, front desk was extremely nice and helpful. Our biggest regret was not staying longer! Breakfast was amazing.
We loved this flat. It was well equipped with a big balcony only 5 minutes from the beach. Butchers and supermarkets close by. Only 10 minutes walk to the train station. Chiavari is a cute town with a lot less tourists, beautiful piazzas and great restaurants.
The property is in an ideal location, rooms were immaculate and the staff was amazing. The free breakfast exceeded our expectations. We dined at the restaurant and the food was delicious. I highly recommend staying at Hotel Monte Rosa and can’t wait to return!
the staff was more friendly , service was great! bed room was very clean and clean blankets and was a small bar , then get water ,coke and beer ! and then it was a small safe to put jewellery! Easily you find parking outside the hotel !
Nice Hotel and nice lady at the reception. Didn't speak English, I didn't speak Italian but we could talk with each other using google translator. It is close to the Station and really close to the harbor. Had a great time walking there.
The best experience ever!! This is 10 stars apartment, an amazing staff, a perfect location, super clean, and i will visit this place every year..
Special thanks to Giorgio. He is so professional
Worth eveeery penny 👌
The hotel is in perfect location, a few minutes from train station and the beach. The receptionist girls are very helpful in every question. Breakfast was good but no vegetables but croissants and coffee was delicious.
This is the best emotions for the whole trip to Italy, the owner is a very kind and nice person. The room is large, with an interesting decor, a delicious breakfast that was prepared for us personally, Parking space
My partner and I enjoyed the stay very much.
A very competent and friendly hostess took care of us. Beautiful and clean rooms, quiet location and yet quickly by car in Chiavari.
We will come back again!
The location was perfect, the hotel was great, and room was really, really nice. The best aspect, however, was the wonderful staff. Such lovely people, they made an already very nice hotel extra special.
Breakfast had loads of options with a really varied selection.
Location was perfect for anywhere you need to go in Chiavari and close to the train station. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby.
