There are beautiful ancient temples, wineries with different plans for tasting, onsen, and lovely countryside to hike or walk. There was a lot of fruit and other local specialties - I recommend the Kikyo Shingen Mochi Factory tour (free) and shops. The lunch restaurant there is excellent.

We stayed multiple nights and the dinner menu noticeably changed and was different from the other guests that were on their first night's meal. The house also had everything well stocked up! We had some difficulties locating the key but thankfully we could communicate in chinese with the owner and managed to get ourselves in soon after. We had also left some clothes behind and the owner was very kind to send it over to us at our next location in Japan. We received it within 2 days! Thank you for the memorable stay!
