Hopkins Homestead Farm Stay Studio, hotel in Kettering

Offering a garden, Hopkins Homestead Farm Stay Studio features accommodations in Kettering. This property offers access to a balcony and free private parking.

Clare & Justin were so accommodating. This is one of the best-kept gems of the Kettering/Nichols Rivulet area. Tucked away and isolated from neighbouring properties. It has tranquil peace and quiet and is super warm & snug. You could live here for extended periods, in a heartbeat! Could not recommendation highly enough. The access to Bruny Ferry is easy (with a vehicle) and has some of Tasmania's best rural landscapes just moments away. Check out Ye Olde Oyster Cove (fresh produce store) on the drive-in to get your fresh food supplies.

Such an beautiful location for a relaxing getaway! The cabin had everything you could possibly want and more and was hands down the cleanest accommodation I’ve ever stayed in. Highlights were the hammock, indoor/outdoor spa bath with view, heated bathroom floor, breakfast provisions, art work, minibar, I could go on. Will definitely come back during winter.

Waterview Gardens B&B, hotel in Kettering

Waterview Gardens B&B in Margate provides adults-only accommodations with a garden, barbecue facilities, and a shared lounge.

The BnB was very thoughtfully planned out. We had a big space and a private bathroom, with lots of thoughtful extras in the room. Was very quiet at night and had an amazing view of the water (as the name suggests!). We stayed in this location as it was only a 10-15 min drive to the Bruny Island ferry in Kettering. The host was lovely and prepared the most amazing breakfast for us!

Kettering is a small coastal town approximately 60 minutes south of Hobart. The surrounding area is rural and very scenic . We used the ferry at Kettering to go to Bruny Island and spent the day over there

The Bruny Island ferry operates out of Kettering so all visitors to Bruny must pass through Kettering but many do not take time to stay in Kettering which has so much to offer and provides a gateway to the Huon River, Cygnet and various places of interest. The Peppermint Bay Hotel offers great food and outlook acoss the channel while the Oyster Cove hotel is also worth a visit. Many tourists are unaware of Oyster Cove as the last settlement of Tasmania's small indigenous population who had been held at Wybelenna on Flinders Island. Trucaninni and King Billy Lanne were two of the 44 people moved to Oyster Cove around 1847. Trucannin was born on Bruny Island and her ashes were scattered in the D'Entrecasteaux Channel 100 years after her death in 1876.

1 day on Bruny Island is not enough.

1 day on Bruny Island is not enough. Must do the boat tour and drop into the winery for their seafood (brunch of Oysters and mussels. Missed out on the oyster shack (not enough time), but the oysters at the winery were good). Leaving the island at the end of the day - expect to catch the 2nd or 3rd at the end of the day, but there are 2 running every half hour.

Directions on how to find Herons Rise were given by the proprietor. There was good signage to the property in the little town of Kettering too. We were in a building that was on its own on the property…..it was nice to have the privacy The unit was exceptionally clean and well appointed The proprietor was friendly and very helpful. Not only did she provide tips on where to eat she provided links on information for our next destination. The donkeys were very cute and well behaved

A beautiful property - super quiet with native animals visiting in the evening! Friendly hosts who came to say hello on arrival and offered to help with our bags etc. Jonathan came back later to put some wallaby food out and we ate dinner looking out at them having theirs. Very close to the ferry to Bruny Island which was our reason for staying here. (less than 5 mins!)

Based just a short distance out of Kettering, the studio is very quiet, private, clean and nicely furnished. Spacious bathroom. Well set up to cook a meal and a 10 minute walk to an excellent ‘fruit/vegetable shop’ that sells many other items including local wines. Considerate hosts.

Outstanding property - exquisitely finished and presented. The views of the boats in the harbour were spectacular. A perfect deck to curl up with a cuppa in the sunshine and take in the sights and sounds of Kettering. I'd happily stay here again, it was flawless.

Spacious room, great view of the harbour, heated bathroom floor, great breakfast. We ate at the Opal Cove Tavern both nights as the food, view and service was great, and a short walk home. We walked to the pick up point for our Bruny Island tour.

This is a lovely place -very clean and comfortable. Good simple cooking facilities. It was a short drive to Kettering via Manuka road which had great views. It’s a bush chalet rather than an ocean view chalet but highly recommended.
