There is lots to see and do in Sofia, so it’s worth staying a few days. Sofia is a city with a very rich history and culture. Consider doing a walking tour with Sofia Free Tours or checking out the Red Flat exhibit about daily life in Communist Bulgaria. There are also lots of museums to choose from on rainy days. There are all sorts of tours outside of Sofia as well (Rila monastery, wine tasting, cave exploring, and hiking). There are also many different types of restaurants to try.

He suggested and ordered in one of the best vegetarian pizzas I think we've ever had. This plus a fine house wine from the restaurant in our room was just perfect. Many thanks. Relatively easy drive (with sat nav) from Sofia airport. The hotel is on a main route out of Sofia and ring road... so easy access to all Bulgaria.
