Historically known as Canton and China’s third largest city, Guangzhou is the birthplace of the most popular types of Chinese cuisine such as iconic wonton soup and dim-sum. It has an impressive skyline, some of the oldest temples in the country and busy markets with everything from tea to hi-tech electronics.
The busy city center mesmerises with its futuristic architecture and beautifully lit skyscrapers but just a short trip away is the quiet haven of Nansha Wetland, a bird sanctuary. After a visit here that rejuvenates with new energy, you can then admire the traditional Cantonese architecture of Xiguan Residence, once occupied by the ruling class.
One of the city’s most popular attractions, the Liurong Temple is an absolute must-see, dating back to the 6th century and featuring a 17-story high pagoda. Make sure you don’t miss the traditional buildings near Yide Road as they are slowly being removed from the map due to the city’s rapid growth.
From a 1000-year-old lake garden, to plenty of theme parks, relaxing rolling hills and mountains, Guangzhou seems to have it all! Add impressive street markets and shopping centers and you are in for a fascinating ride.
Guangzhou Airport is a convenient metro or taxi ride away and Booking.com provides over 390 different accommodations options for you to choose from.

Beautiful city full of restaurants at every street corner , the people are on the move and everyone is hustling. Language is a barrier since everyone speaks only Mandarin, you always have to have the translator app. The food is nice but the cakes are nicer - they make the most amazing cakes.

It's been 5 years since last there and the City has turned green with gardens and mature trees everywhere. Even the overbridges have plantings.
Traffic was better than expected. English translations everywhere making it easy to get around.
Food and food availability unbelievably good.
I travel into Guangzhou by ferry direct from HK airport. Its a stunning way to see the place. Cheaper too.

Indeed The hotel customer service people are very nice and they support us to arrange taxi and others but the property inside decorations is very old model not updated they have no microwoven in the room as I was business suit they provided us only one big towel on shower faciltiteis where should be at least 2.
Their make up room people doesn't speak English it is very big problem.
1 st they provided to me room number 1500 which is not sound proof at all shared room on door to others room. Business suit room is not like that as my experience.
Location is good nearby have indian restaurant by walking distance 100 meters.
So should improve the Room decorations accordingly.

Nice and bustling city with a lot of great food and places to explore. Transportation including taxi is affordable and there is also good art and cultural space if you are fan. There is also no shortage of good shopping mall like Grandview Mall, TeeMall, IGC Mall, Beijing Road Walking street etc. it will be good idea to avoid visit during Canton Fair if you are not intending on visiting the Fair as the hotel fare will be high and high volume of traffic

It has a terrible location, difficult access to any part of the place, there are no shopping or food options, poor quality reception service, and service, I believe for the price paid, it was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in, worse than a guesthouse, expensive for what it offers

very vibrant city. clean and convenient in terms of commuting. food and shopping is cheap. people are helpful and friendly. Only issue was we were conned by taxi driver when we travelled from airport to hotel. His meter showed 500 RMB + 20 odd toll fees ...obviously being manupulated. ...unfortunately we didn't take down the taxi number to file a complain. So be careful taking taxi from airport. DiDi still best
Our stay at the hotel was excellent. The position was fantastic with plenty of eateries close by or a very cheap Taxi away. We did lots of walking around the city and always felt very safe. The breakfasts were excellent with a great range of foods for every pallet. The staff were friendly, and the place was very clean. I would definitely stay again. It is a smaller boutique style hotel that is very personable. Our room was big, very clean, and the bathroom was excellent.
Location was just around the corner of Beijing Lu, that was sooo good, you can walk to make shopping, a lot of restaurantes near, but the street was not so nice. It is a small hotel. Reception people try to do their best every day. Room was small but well equipen. Bed was comfortable. The bus to Canton fair was a little old, but works service was on time and they also gave you a snack and water when we return, that was nice.
First of all it was located near airport and my flight arrived at the airport after midnight so I want my hotel as near as possible so it checked that box.
On the other hand it's near airport meaning you'll be far away from the city center.
Hotel staff was super friendly and helpful contacted us through Wechat and arranged the transportation between airport and hotel. (It was free as they said).
The room was particularly spacious and the cleaning staff were friendly and obliging. This hotel is perfect for airport transfers, made even easier by the hotel shuttle bus to both terminals - and by extension the city metro system. Oh, and the hotel restaurants are excellent, especially the breakfast buffet, which offers an almost unbelievable range of food choices both Chinese and foreign.
The hotel is very well located, right in the city center.
.There are several restaurants around the hotel where the food is very good.
The rooms are very large with all facilities, and the cleanliness is perfect. The price-quality ratio is a very good one for downtown Guangzhou. I stayed in much more expensive hotels in Guangzhou, and the conditions were not at all better than at this hotel.
The staff is excellent and very friendly, always willing to assist the customer. The hotel is located at the old city centre, but is in the middle between the new city centre, the markets, the Canton fair with a free shuttle bus as well. The area is safe and you can feel it. I would prefer it though if they renovated it. I am staying there again on my next business trip here
The hotel is very new and very nice. Facilities are very comfortable and the staffs are amazing. Even though, some had little difficulties in speaking English, they still try their very best to assist on any matters. Service wise it was one of the best hotel I have visited so far. People traveling for business (especially for Canton Fair) I would recommend this hotel.
A great hotel and a great team, located in the restaurant zone.
Hotel l bus included in the price to and from the Canton Fair each day.
Abundant and fresh buffet breakfast, eastern and western food.
Guests laundry on the ninth floor.
The well-considered room interior was made for travellers.
The bed was very comfortable and the room cleaned daily.
Excellent hotel with great location, minutes away from metro lines to get the city center and to the Canton afair complex. Room are comfortable, very well lit and well equipped (mini projector, coffee machine, free soft drinks,...). Breakfast was elaborate, tasty and changed everyday.
Goot to know - Hotel accepts master and visa cards
Very nice location in a historical place. Its interesting to walk around in a very unusual surroundings for so big and crowded city as Guangzhou. Really homely feeling:) The shopping mall with many good restaurants is just in 10-15min walk away. Looks as the hotel is renovated recently, nicely renovated! Good breakfast.
Managers James and Jolin and all their staff are awesome. Always happy to help and solve any issue. The bus to Canton Fair was always on time, with water to make it better. The hotel is well located. Their restaurant is great, with Chinese and Western options. Super recommended.
Amazing property in a good modern location. Duty Manager John Zhu was always full of smiles and ready to walk with you to help with anything. Without him, there is no Ascott. There is a Starbucks and Lavazza below the hotel and many more restaurants nearby.
Overall service is very good, very nice staff, the place is very clean and comfortable to be in. The shuttle is a plus make things convinient when going to the metro and airport and back to the hotel, saved money from taking taxi/public bus
Close to the Canton Fair. Walking distance. Big rooms, clean, good bed. Breakfast excellent. Reception very helpful. There are several Restaurants in the Hotel and their food is nice, so no need to go anyway for Dinner.
Specious, very clean, tea, coffee, electric kettle, good bathroom and toilet, beautiful view of the city and people's garden/park. Allowed early check in. Free shuttle bus to Canton fair.
The fact that there shuttle between the hotel and the canton fair ! Even the staff was good, mainly Mister XAVIER was very attentif i would give him a 5 star rate if i could
No breakfast provided. But, the market opposite the hotel does have a variety of food stores.
It's near airport, so, it is convenient for lay-over stay.
