Shangri La was really cold this time of year. We switched hotels from somewhere freezing. Staying in Shangri la in Shangri la is a great option. On check in our room was upgraded to a room with a great view. it was lovely to watch the CNY fireworks from our room. Staff at this hotel are great they would top up our water (we needed lots of hot drinks to stay warm). I would recommend this hotel a lot.

The view from our room was stunning. The staff at Tibet Guest House were super helpful and kind. They helped us book a bus ticket and even gave us a ride back to the bus stop. I would love to stay here again.

I was there in January, the room was very warm inside with AC and electric mattress, and very important there was always hot water. Good location opposite Guishan Park and the staff is really kind and helpful.

Shangri-La is a beautiful town, a little slice of Tibet in Yunnan. You can experience Tibetan architecture and culture without having to get a permit for Tibet proper. Unfortunately, the city is very high altitude. We got altitude sickness pretty badly and had to leave after one night. Next time I would bring some pills or allow enough time to adjust to the height before walking around.

The monastery next to the hotel is the star attraction but Shangri La old town is also great, check out the worlds largest prayer wheel and seek out the local food. Yak pizza is great. Loads of beautiful lakes and mountains within a short drive.

The staff there was extremely helpful and friendly, they're always glad to recommend me things nearby. Also the territory is a bit away from the old town, not too far though, but it's more quiet there due to this fact. There is an option of renting a bike and going for a ride outside the city. Vivian showed me some of the best routes on the map. Will definitely choose this place again once I'm back to Shangri-La.

The hotel is in Tibetan style and you can get a taste of a traditional experience. The rooms are big and clean but with modern toilet (a plus), very comfortable bed. Great location inside the old Shangri-La town. We will definitely come back.

The food was delicious. We had lunch, dinner and breakfast. The family that runs the hotel is very nice. They were very kind and attentive with us. They helped us to arrange a nice hiking and helped us with the transfers to Shangri La and from Lijiang. We are very happy we stayed there.
