It is a great place for a vacation for a couple or family with children. Attractive town and market. Great variety of restaurants with delicious food. So many attractions nearby for adventure seekers. Our 8 and 10 year olds had a fantastic time. Our visit to Banos was 7 days.

Banks is a suitable destination for all travellers.
Banks is a suitable destination for all travellers. There are more than enough activities for adrenalin junkies: buggy jumping, ziplining, rafting, swing at the top of the world ... For the rest of us the walk to the Devil's cauldron is eminently doable especially in the opposite side along the catwalks. Downtown is a lovely cathedral and a good selection of tourists tat. Don't mix the taffee pullers and be sure to take some home. One of the highlights of Banos are the many remarkable restaurants. Don't miss The Swiss Bistro. There is a great and very interesting small zoo of local fauna at the edge of town. For those interested there is a reptilarium opposite the zoo.MarkEcuador - 10Scored 10

A lot of people do a day tour to Banos from Quito, but I think it is insane, since it takes about 2.5 / 3 hours to get there. Therefore, I think staying couple of nights helps, giving time to explore the little town and all the activities and waterfalls around. The "cascadas" tour is probably the best!

Very nice town with things to do and places to eat and beautiful views. Short bus ride to see waterfalls and hiking trails. Great for day trips to other parts of Ecuador that are interesting as well. It was very safe there.

Great night life vibe for all ages in Banos. A great choice of Cafes and restaurants. There was always someone that could speak English if required. The hotel ordered a private taxi to take me to all the tourist spots which was extremely cheap for a days outing and very informative. I was able to walk from my hotel to the township. Baños was a super cool experience for my birthday. The Pailon del Diablo was the best. The restaurants at the bottom were spectacular! The places in town had local art for sale and great coffee shops etc for tourists. Cute place to spend a few days.JulieUnited States of America

The first couple nights we were the only people staying at the hotel and we fell asleep to the sound of the River. The breakfast was plentiful for most people, we are vegan so we just had the fruit and coffee, but the girl in the morning did make me a salad with fresh veggies one morning. The Hostal is within walking distance to the bus terminal (Quito, Banos etc.) and bus to La Casa del Árbol, supermarket, local market (very fresh and cheap fruits and vegetables). The room was very quiet, clean and comfortable. Fast wifi, and a nice kitchen to share with others including the owner. I definitely recommend it.

The area is really green and you have waterfalls nearby. You can chill at the hostel the whole day, as there's a restaurant, the pool, the hot water tub,... and to get to Baños by taxi is easy. This was my favorite hostel during my 3 week holiday in Ecuador.
