When we had a problem related to air conditioning, the hotel staff did everything to help us and moved us to another room. Also, they seem to take Covid very seriously.

pretty place, very friendly and fun staff, nice vibe!
El Paso is situated in the middle of La Palma. This makes it ideal for trips to the beaches or hiking trails on the west and the east of La Palma. If your looking for restaurants or bars, El Paso is not ideal and Los Llanos or Tazacorte should be preferred.

My initial reaction on arriving in El Paso was: "it's full of dead things". The plants were dead (possibly as a result of the 2016 forest fires, which I hope the area will recover from quickly), the atmosphere was dead. We went to see the petroglyphs, and found them behind a rubbish dump and a cemetery - more deadness. There was a pathos to finding symbols carved for fertility and life in such a place. We decided to stay in El Paso originally because it looked like a good place from which to explore the national park - and it is. A bus runs every 30 minutes to the park centre, from which you can hike to the hermitage of the Virgin of the Pines, the ridge, the caldera. But it wouldn't have been much more trouble to do that from Santa Cruz, which is what we'd choose to do in future. On the plus side, there are some really excellent restaurants - the Black Pearl and Tasca Catalina were both superb.
Easy check-in. Receptionist took us to bungalow to show us around and we were able to have the microwave replaced by an oven. Spacious and comfortable living room and bedroom both with access to terrace facing the sunset. Reasonably equipped kitchen with outside area, including table and chairs, which we only used for hanging washing. Bathtub. Regular change of towels. Good wifi. Lovely, well-kept garden areas around the bungalows. Convenient for exploring the west of the island.
Very modern place with a well equipped kitchen and a nice terrace with mountain view. The apartment was clean, comfy and offered everything we needed.
Ms. Ana, our host, was very accommodating despite the language barrier (she only speaks Spanish). She offered us some herbs from her garden for cooking and surprised us with some churros.
The area is very quiet at night time and perfectly positioned for hiking.
The hostess was super kind and responded quickly to our questions through Booking.com. The house was very nicely furnished, clean and lots of space. We had a private parking spot right in front of our door. And as volcanologists, it was a great location to monitor the current volcanic eruption of the Cumbre Vieja on La Palma.
As I did not stay in this hotel for the night I cannot judge the rooms. The owner of this place is very friendly and helpful, and can give you valuable information of the surroundings. The location was close to the viewpoint of Cumbre Vieja volcano and the surroundings seems to be tranquil during normal circumstances.
A true gem, fully surrounded by nature. A jaw dropping surrounding, and the best hosts I could wish for. The perfect get away of you want to spend some time in nature. The energy there is really good and the other guests were also amazing. I only stayed for 2 nights, but it feels like home. For sure I will be back.
The house was spacious and clean, set in a very calm neighbourhood. The location was central, convenient to visit both western and eastern side of the island. The house had a small porch and a private parking space. The kitchen was equipped and there was a welcome bottle of wine and some apples.
Cozy little finca in the vicinity of El Paso, with easy access to lots of restaurants and shops. House is well equipped, including with a dishwasher and washing machine and the wifi was really superb. Pilar, the owner, was very helpful and easy to contact in case we had any questions.
Two friendly hostesses, convenient location (for those planning treks in Taburiente National Park), great atmosphere, beautiful scenery, cheap price with kitchen. The hostesses did their best to help me find my missing things. So I would like to give Rivendell Hotel a 10-point review.
Amazing quirky modernised 60s hexaform house nestled in the trees, great view and lovely host. Comfy bed, nice shower, friendly and responsive hosts. I only wish it had been warm enough to use the beautiful outdoor space too.
A cute house, very private and with a nice little pool. It had everything we needed and the largest supermarket on the island was only a short walk away. The bathroom is small but modern with a nicely hot rain shower.
The location of the property in the centre of El Paso was a great base for our trip to explore La Palma. The apartment was spotlessly clean and well equipped. The bottle of wine left by the owner was a nice touch.
Great location and lovely view and only 5 to 10 minutes from shops and restaurants.
Also a great starting point for people who do like a good walk.
Lovely sunny communal garden.
Cosy and special place! Chris is a very friendly host, also offering trekking advices. Communication was good from start to end! We unfortunately stayed only one night.
