In the picturesque town of Agaete, this hotel has a subtle nautical theme and a fantastic spa to enjoy. Head down to the nearby beach for breath-taking scenery and a swim in the Atlantic Ocean.

If you want to wake up with the sound of the surf at your front patio, have guaranteed free parking, (which is at a premium in this area), want a very clean space with a responsive host, this is the place to stay! A 3 minute walk along the oceanfront promenade to the port and all its restaurants and the sights of the harbor. One comfortable queen bed, two twin beds. Guide books, and brochures in the apartment to help explore the island. Though we did not utilize it, washing machine available.
Set in Agaete, Vilna House with private pool, jacuzzi and garden -Optional pool and jacuzzi heating offers a barbecue. Playa del Ingles is 24 mi from the property.
Lagarto is located in Agaete, just 24 miles from Parque de Santa Catalina and 8.5 miles from Cueva Pintada Museum. Featuring mountain and pool views, this guest house also has free Wifi.

If you want to get a bit more remote and not in the high rise this is your spot. In the old town there's a few places to eat, don't leave it too lateen a Sunday or there's not much open.
The port is fine, plenty of restaurants you'd expect on the quay. Loved the swim pools, discovered them on our second last day & would have used them and the promenade more had I known!
The road south is great fun with epic views, but not for the faint hearted with tiny windy roads and potential rock falls if it's been raining.
Nice spot, nearby coffee plantations a great day trip.

Fish restaurants in the Puerto area are all brilliant.
Fish restaurants in the Puerto area are all brilliant.
Agaete town is quiet and sleepy, but lovely. Excellent coffee at the bakery. the Huertas de las Flores is a gorgeous and lush oasis of amazing trees and flowers.
the municipal library is a wonderful community space.
Excellent location and starting point for some really good hikes. Local public transport is really good. We took the local bus to Los Berrazales coffee place (finca la Laja), then walked back along the valley floor ('el valle' or 'el barranco').
Perfect place for a quiet holiday - lots of other visitors, but it is not a 'big resort' kind of place, just people who come for hiking and very good fresh fish!

Agaete has a magical spirit, which is hard to describe rationally. In the compact and pretty town center is a wide range of cafés, bars and restaurants. Narrow streets elevate the whole slope up to the topmost view. Often there is some music festival in the town. Surrounding mountain are always visible, being a background for small beautiful places that are worth to seek for. Neighbouring port town offers beaches, natural piscinas and more bars and cafés. Supermarket is located practically halfway between, together with a closed bath (also suitable for children) and gorgeous Hondo café, which would be a mistake not to visit. Agaete is easy to reach by car using highway, which is currently being extended further south. However, bus services are poor in speed due to detouring to many villages along the highway and often delayed, and most of all too infrequent except for the line to Las Palmas.

No hot water when arrived.
No hot water when arrived. Dodgy tap in a bathroom meant no hot water all the stay. Ants in a bathroom all ten days. Damaged bathroom door. No toaster. No "free toiletries or toaster" both advertised.
Sparse kitchen utilities. No pegs for hanging out washing. Two outside lights missing.
Contacted both booking.com, Holidu and the useless Victor Ramos. E mails over nearly all ten days, and the responses to all queries raised. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Victor exists to stall clients, do nothing and prevent money being spent. He blames the owners if he cannot do anything (he know exactly what he is doing ...........) Basically rubbish

We weren't that impressed about Agaete as there were only few shops and the local supermarkets had a rather modest choice of food. Agaete scores well in terms of atmosphere (old buildings, narrow roads, picturesque port) but you can't compare it with the much more lively, bustling Galdar. We liked the port area and the rock pools but didn't find them outstanding in any way. Agaete is certainly worth visiting but we felt it tends to get a bit overrated. For us Agaete was a great base for exploring the North and West of Gran Canaria but a bit less of a great destination on its own.

A small town with a number of small shops, two banks and a couple of places to eat out or take a coffee. There is no supermarket. There is a town square with a pretty church, but this is usually closed. The nearby Maipes archaeological park is well worth a visit. The botanical gardens are tiny but for €1, again worth a visit. From Agaete you can walk to Puerto de las Nieves in about 20 minutes (Spar supermarket en route) where you can enjoy the beaches, the natural swimming pools and watch the ferry going to a from Tenerife.
La Jacaranda is a cute apartment ideal for staying between hikes or trips, equipped with basic but great taste.
The hosts were helpful - and also superkind to provide a huge bottle of mineral water - this was made the stay easier - not tipical in this region.
Agaete Valley is place that is worth to visit, you can meet all the elements from a sunny ocean playa to windy giant hills.
Try to visit Finca los Catanos - a coffee plantation - remarkable for a lifetime :) as like the valley's specific flora & fauna.
We last stayed here in 2018. The location is mainly what drew us back, in the green valley of Agaete. The pool area is comfortable, lovely to lie on the loungers under the orange trees with the scent of blossom. The staff are charming. The water is hot, the room (2) large and airy.
The restaurants just down the road in Puerto de las Nieves are very good, delicious food and not expensive, we went down each evening.
This is an extraordinarily nice place to spend a week, and we can't wait to return. Very close to the wild waters of the coast (and the amazing natural rock pools), as well as to the valley of Agaete and the restaurants of El Puerto de las Nieves. Invariably friendly and courteous service, warm and civilized atmosphere. Comfortable outdoor pool space, and the rooms with the sea view have unforgettable vistas.
The hotel was very clean. The receptionist, staff, and waiters were really lovely and helpful. Loved my stay there. The thing is the hotel is hidden - sometimes good, especially within gorgeous rocks and beautiful views.. Enjoyed the buffets, rooftop, scenery.. literally everything. I recommend it!
We like it's central location in Agaete a beautiful village.
Traditional decoration, high ceiling and modern shower rooms.
The host Raul was very very helpful throughout our stay even brought the Roscon De Reyes--- a special cake for us.
Thanks you very much Raul for everything.
First of all, a big THANK YOU to Tomas and his son who took care of our stay so well! It was the perfect location for us: between Puerto de las Nieves on the coast and the very nice village of Agaete. It is also the perfect starting point for hiking tours in the Agaete valley.
We loved Agaete and this was a great stay, we felt at home.
The place was clean, kitchen had all the amenities we needed for cooking, the balcony was a great addition and communication with Paolo was smooth and friendly.
Would definitely recommend staying here!
It was a very good stay. The apartment is not big but a cozy one. The bed is comfortable, I like the quality cotton sheets. The outdoor space is very big, an awesome terrace. Agaete is a lively historical town, not to be missed. Owners are very pleasant
We stayed at the apartment for 14 nights.
The balcony was pleasant to sit out and eat breakfast or evening meal.
The property is situated between the old quarter of Agaete and Puerto de Las Nieves, but is not actually in either.
The location of the hotel is perfect. Close to the natural pools and the harbor. The room has a balcony with sea view which is fantastic. The pool is huge and breakfast is good. You get everything you want.
Typical spanish town house. Situated in a living area of Agaete. Nice garden to sit outside for dinner. Perfect to discover the northwest of Gran Canaria.
Beautiful flat on walking distance of the peer. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to stay in Agaete.
Lot of parking possibilities if you come by car.
